This has been by far and away the best experience I've had living at any apartment complex! The building itself is very nice, well-kept, and rarely crowded on the rooftop or in the gym. Both garages are easily accessible at the point-of-access, and are not too-small or difficult to navigate. Public areas are very nicely furnished, and a great benefit to those who work from home. There are sinks and other facilities publicly available throughout, which makes activities like grilling on the rooftop very enjoyable and easy to do. The staff however, are even more of what makes living here an exceptional experience. They are friendly and make a point of being easily available, with the maintenance team handling (even complex) work order requests in a very timely and effective manner. For maintenance work or anything else they assist you with, the follow-up communication is always timely and informative. Any notable matters that come up: such as upcoming maintenance work in public spaces, security concerns, or even the status of construction across the street - are all consistently addressed by the staff in clear communications to tenants. When I renewed my lease this year, but wanted to move into a different room - the staff assisted me in securing storage lockers and even worked with the previous tenant to make it possible for me to move between apartments (and transfer the lease) without interruption. They weren't obliged to do any of that, and did so without hesitation. I could go on and on because one simply cant say enough about the quality and care that is put into this building by its staff. If you're looking for a great place to live without the slightest concern of maintenance or issue, this is it. Edit - Update: Spring 2022 and I will be moving after ~5 years at Tula to be closer to work. That said, the location continues to be fantastic! The building was sold and new management arrived prior to this last year, and all the usual concerns with changes were relieved as they haven't missed a beat. This apartment has continued to be clean, responsive to requests, and the staff/maintenance team are very friendly. 5/5 would (still) recommend to anybody looking to live in the Uptown area!!

I lived at Tula at the start of September 2019 to the end of the lease 09/20. I overall found the experience to be OK. I initially moved into Tula because of the warm and welcoming office staff, specifically Hilary. She was a big part of the reason I chose Tula to be my home. I was extremely saddened when she was no longer in the office downstairs but I would still see her from  time to time. The living space is very minimalistic and modern. I personally did not like the concrete floors as they always looked dirty and were extremely hard to clean and keep from being stained.  I originally did not sign up for concrete flooring but ended up switching units and was not informed of the concrete floors, but I moved into the unit anyway and ended up regretting it. Personally I feel it is a bit overpriced for the space that you were given but you are in the heart of uptown so I guess that's what you're paying for.  I was also there during the riots and had a front row seat to everything outside my window, it was a little bit scary but I definitely support my city. As a minority I felt extremely judged and unwelcome living at Tūla, especially during the riots. Even more so after putting up George Floyd signs on my balcony. The amenities were fair as well. The gym is a bit small but it has decent equipment, the rooftop is really nice but I always found a lot of people to be up there and it's not that big so I didn't really get to use it that much. The parking was kind of tight but I drive a TAHOE so that's not surprising and I have found that to be true in almost any apartment I live at. Once the pandemic started they weren't really going easy on rent payments for us residents. I could barely make my payments once I lost both my jobs. I offered to pay partial payments until I was able to secure another job but I was called almost immediately by somebody else making sure that I understand that I am obligated to pay payments in full and what not. I ended up doing that from that point on, but could barely pay for food and other responsibilities. I just thought during a world crisis my "home" could be more accommodating but sadly I was mistaken. at the end of my stay I was charged an excessive amount for what anyone would perceive as wear n tear. I asked every single person in my family and that I know if the scratches on the wall would fall under excessive damage or wear n tear and they were all surprised to find out that to Tūla it was in fact excessive damage.Overall I felt my experience at Tula to be OK I wouldn't recommend it to a family member but may be a friend. Much love to Hilary, someone who made my stay a little easier!

Tula is the ideal uptown apartment experience. The location is fabulous, the fit and finish top notch, maintenance VERY good, and the staff outstanding. We've rented with Solhem companies in Minneapolis since 2012, and can't say enough good things about them as landlords. Highly recommended if you are unsure where to live!
