If you are looking for a perfect resort this is the place. Extremely clean, great amenities and the beach is perfect. Water is calm and sandy. Come check out this place you wont be disappointed.

This is one of my happy places, and my family has been staying here for years. Please come and see for yourself!!! Marty is a 1-man show and works very hard to maintain the resort, so people can come to enjoy it. Lake Edward is beautiful, and we caught tons of fish. Don't be steered away by the other 1-star reviews. They all came from one group a few years ago. And it's sad that some people have nothing better to do than bad mouth small businesses. Without places like this, we wouldn't get to enjoy the lake. So again, please come and experience for yourself. The resort is very family friendly and has so much to offer. Please support Local and help keep this place alive.

My family and I have been coming to Shing Wako since 2005. Our kids have grown up playing in the grass and on the beach! We started with the small red cabins and after kids, we moved to the lower white cabins. In 2019, we moved to the reunion cabins due to the size of our family and the amenities available (laundry, dishwasher, AC). However, over the last couple of years, we feel the service at the resort has declined. We have an expectation after flying cross-country that everything is in working order. We did not have functioning AC, dishwasher, or TV in Cabin 18. The owner, Marty suggested we open the windows to cool the unit which was not suffice and it worsened the air quality for those of us with pollen allergies. For cable TV, we were told to unplug to reset the box which never worked so we switched cable boxes with the master bedroom. Our pontoon boat didnt have a working fish finder. We heard that Marty was behind due to long winter weather. However, we made these reservations in January - no excuse! Marty offered to try and fix services but instead he was seen spending time sorting recycling cans. We should not be charged for amenities that do not function.

The resort is fabulous, our 2 lakefront cabins were clean and perfect. The ground are neat and we'll kept. The fishing was excellent considering we didn't know the lake and are casual at fishing; we all caught fish including a few walleyes. The dock is long but it's because of the property and shoreline. Lake is the cleanest I've seen in that area and the property in the lake is sandy at least 50 yards out. Overall one of the best trips up north I've made and our family has been going up that way for 29 years.
