Foss Swim School - Maple Grove

My son (and I) are currently in the backfloat baby 1 class. I won't say it's expensive, but it does cost a decent amount of money. The reason why I won't say it's expensive is because I really do feel like it's worth the money. I am really grateful that we have an awesome instructor who is fun and engaging with the kids - she's great! I also do appreciate the cleanliness of the facility and I do enjoy how warm the water is. It's a great environment to learn in and it's a great way for my son and I to spend time together.

Swimming lessons can be good with the right teacher, if they dont continually change out teachers multiple times during a session. The heating system continues to be broken down since February 2024. After four + weeks they continue to be having problems. Anyone that is observing their kids is overheating. As hot and humid as it is how much concern is there for bacteria to grow. As much as Foss charges for lessons they should be able to fix their heating system.

Wow! Just had our first lessons at this location and both Swim Instructors Leah and Amanda were AWESOME!! Our 3.5 and 2 year old loved their lessons.

We have found the teachers (For two different classes) to be helpful and competent teaching the basics of swimming. My daughter really liked her first teacher here. The teachers are great! The main issue with this location is that there is so much staff turnover that over the course of two classes, our daughter has had four different teachers. This unpredictability does not make for a relaxing environment to learn in for children who may need consistency. Also, there are two floating teachers who are actually a manager and assistant manager who go around to each class helping, however their presence can be more confusing because this adds yet another new face who may have contradicting instructions/style. We have noticed two empathetic and skilled instructors leave in the short time my daughter took classes here. I have a feeling the problems are coming from the top. We decided to take the loss and cancel lessons here and sign up for community Ed classes where there will be more consistency and a quieter environment.
