The apartments at Southwood are relatively affordable, the management is friendly and they're always quick to remove snow during the winters. All the same, living here has not been a very positive experience. There is often loud music or arguments in the parking lot on weekend nights and pets run around the property unleashed.

I wish I could rate this place 0 stars. The first few months we were here we had no working microwave, most of the lightbulbs were burnt out, carpet smelled like cigarettes and cat urine. The ceiling leaked water badly and we were promised it would be fixed in a matter of a couple days and little action was taken. It is currently -20 degrees and we have no working heat in the apartment. We were also told we would get the carpet cleaned shortly after move in to deal with the smell and no action was taken. I would not recommend living here to anyone that wants a comfortable, functional apartment in Mankato.
