    Things went downhill fast after Bob stopped managing, maintenance never came and the new tenants they allowed move in brought cockroaches from their previous apartment, pictures below are the text messages my neighbor sent to the new landlord. Nothing was ever done until I contacted the state and even then they came and sprayed once and they never got rid of them, the people next and below me had clutter and garbage everywhere and landlord allowed it. I moved out the first week in July and still got charged all the days I didnt stay due to (breaking my lease) I would have never left if management would have done their jobs properly because it was extremely affordable. Not to mention the building didnt have a working laundry machine for weeks. Lindsey is extremely rude and unprofessional, ignoring all the problems at hand and screamed at me over the phone mutiple occasions. AVOID At all costs unless you enjoy creepy crawly roommates and broken down equipment.

    Worst place I've lived. Not regarding the housing, but the management. They seem to be focused on trying to evict as many people as possible instead of keeping them in their home and treating them with respect. Tenants are not listened to, and unexplained fees appear out of nowhere. I've never gotten one notice as to why I owe extra fees over the past few years. Not one explanation. I've never seen this kind of treatment. It's appalling. UPDATE; My situation was alleviated. It absolutely and totally depends on who you talk to, and how carefully you spell the situation out to management.

    Joleen Pfau, SMR president instructed staff to block all communications with neighbor whom was impacted by paving project. Joleen aka SMR was under no obligation to communicate with me regarding the closure of my access to my property. I lost access to my property for 4 days. What a way to treat people. The city blamed SMR and Neilson, Neilson construction could have cared less and SMR was under no obligation to communicate. Yup trifecta of not me them.... Sorry doesn't cut it afterwards. If you need to rent SMR wouldn't be on my list. EDIT: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Let me give renters some advise. I rented for 15 years and dealt with various landlords like SMR. I recieved my deposits by following this advise. I also was able to document enough violations of state and city laws/ordinances to get out of a year lease after 4 months! 1) TAKE PICTURES! WHEN YOU MOVE IN AND SUPPLY THE LL/RENTAL CO. WITH CONDITIONS UPON ARRIVAL. Do a Move in Inspection, Mine had more red ink than black. And supply them with this information. Same on move out, if they have you sign, get the copy then. DO NOT LET THEM MAIL YOU A COPY, DEMAND A COPY RIGHT NOW. 2) OBTAIN A COPY OF TENANT/LL RESPONSIBLEITIES PER THE STATE OF MINNESOTA. MINNESOTA HAS BETTER CONSUMER PROTECTIONS THAN OTHER STATES, USE THEM. 3) FOLLOW YOUR OBLIGATIONS AND DOCUMENT ANY VIOLATION OF THE LL ( WRITTEN /DATED) RECORD CONVERSATIONS.... 4) IF YOU HAVE PETS USE A BLUE LIGHT TO DOCUMENT EXISTING AREAS OF CARPET WHEN YOU ARRIVE. (They got me on that one once) THERE ARE LIMITS IN MINNESOTA FOR NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR....THEY CANNOT CHARGE YOU FOR CARPET OVER 10 YEARS OLD! They love keeping your money. Lastly, get out of rentals asap.....they are money pits. Home ownership is more obtainable than you think. I own a home and pay less over all than a 1 bedroom dump across the alley.
