We had a similar experience to Annie D. Way overpriced and I did most of the work by filling out a form and entering in all the data. I feel like we paid more in taxes than we should have. I may have been charged for emails/calls, but I can't even get an itemized receipt to know for sure. I feel like we paid for a lawyer. Not transparent at all.

I've found Robin to be delightful and professional and our taxes were expertly handled. Communication can be a little spotty, which I attribute partly to being the first year I've used their services and not having the client portal log-in until partway through tax season. I do not anticipate this being a problem next season. This isn't a big corporation. You'll be talking to the boss. That's a good thing.

Im torn between and 1 and 2. And only going with 2 because they submitted our taxes on time - the rest of the experience was very disappointing. On our first full scheduled meeting (after 45m drive through traffic), when we arrived they said they forgot about our appointment and asked if we would come back tomorrow. Their fees arent transparent. We were charged a fee for tax prep (customary, albeit overpriced) and then unbeknownst to us, also incurred a charge for exchanging emails with the office in the off season to ask about future withholding estimates. None of our correspondence was timely - waiting 2 to 3 weeks for an answer and then getting charged is bad service. For as much choice in tax experts out there, customer experience matters.
