Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Forest Lake, MN

On occasion a traveler is fortunate enough to stop through a place that not only has a fantastic general staff, but additionally boasts a general manager of the sort you'd be lucky to find in Paris, or Rome. You won't find the property the match of the Four Seasons, despite the exceptional and rather dashing maintenance guy they keep around, but it is unlikely to matter. That's the kind of experience you'll find here. Cheers!

THE MOST RANCID, DISGUSTING HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT! Picked this place because we had a flood at the house, had to be out for a few days and it was closest. Even though there was a cute little signed card on the bed stating the room had been cleaned it clearly had NOT been. There were nasty fingerprints all over everything, the bed sheets were disheveled an dirty looking, crumbs and hair all over the chairs and sofa. Carpet was dirty and had not been vacuumed. Walls looked like a group of kids had assembled and painted them. That was nothing, though. We pulled out the sofa bed for my son to sleep on and there was a giant WAD OF CHEWING TOBACCO with associated stains in the folded sheets!!! We almost had a pukefest then and there! Then it was time for the grand finale...BUGS - either fleas or bed bugs - running around under the king beds mattress!!! Didn't stick around to find out. Been traveling for over 50 years and never saw anything as bad as this. Scooped up my family as quick as I could and got OUT. Front desk clerks just looked at us with their mouths hanging open when we told them. Great shame on the owners and managers of this dump! Everyone BEWARE!!

Do not stay here. (1) They advertise a noon checkout, but they will call you between 11 and noon to tell you that you missed checkout. (2) Being rushed out of the room ahead of the advertised checkout, I left behind personal property. My property was stolen by hotel staff and I'll never see it again. If you value your time and expect to stay until the advertised checkout time, and you value your property and expect a hotel to respect that and help you get it backexpect neither from this hotel. Look elsewhere, don't waste your time and money here! Rooms: Checkout time advertised as noon is a bait-and-switch scheme. The hotel enforces an 11am checkout time. Safety: Hotel staff will steal property left in the room.
