I did not have a good experience at this location. The therapist never sent over information for DBT program so I missed multiple groups. The therapist also would not send over zoom links until hours after the scheduled appointment or would get an apology email and she would miss the appointment all together. I dont think its very acceptable to be acting like that as a therapist. If I were you I would avoid the stress and go elsewhere for therapy.

Was told they dont accept my insurance. Was told they dont even bill the secondary insurance company if you have one and it gets denied. I have heard of a clinic not billing the secondary insurance company if it is denied by the primary insurance company.

Our daughter started out finding DBT somewhat helpful, but after her DBT facilitator/therapist changed it actually worked against her mental health. From our daughter's feedback, the new therapist seemed very robotic and unconcerned with the group members feelings. They were more concerned with facilitating based on the "script" than showing their humanity so that the group members could relate to them and feel safe sharing their concerns, progress, etc. Our daughter felt called out on several occasions and having social anxiety that was really difficult for her. Granted our daughter does have some mental health issues, but that's why she is in DBT (as are most group members) so I personally feel the therapists should be more skilled in helping set expectations and helping group members learn how to work through their experiences and feelings in a healthy way. That's what DBT is for. Instead of helping our daughter learn skills to help her work through difficult emotions, the way the therapist handled the group created more frustration and anger and no guidance or safe space to work through that.

When I entered group therapy, the MHS intake worker assured me that my insurance would cover the services. However, three months in to the program, MHS told me that they made a mistake and asserted that we would need to cough up hundreds of dollars if, I intended to "graduate" from the program successfully. Know your rights. Clients are not obligated to pay for services that MHS gives you, if/when they don't have your consent before giving you that service. I wouldn't have gone here for DBT, if I knew they would be billing me instead of my insurance. The intake worker told me they accept my insurance policy, and it covers the group skill-based course in full. My insurance company verified that Mental Health Services, PC was an in-network provider and the group therapy was covered. Yet, MHS billed, retroactively, for one month of services then demanded an out-of-pocket payment plan in exchange for continued services. They told me it was because the provider that they placed me with had a second job so there was conflict of interest and blamed me for their mistake. Well, MHS why didnt you put me in a group with a provider who wasnt moonlighting/creating conflicts of interests? Its basically an insurance scam. After reading another similar review, it seems like MHS has a pattern of this type conduct. I would not trust them with my health care or the care of a loved one. In summary, If you have 4-5 hours each week to waste, do DBT here. If you value your time, money, and are genuinely interested in gaining skills and support, go elsewhere. Edit: I'm happy to report that after months of going back and forth, the company reimbursed the money in question, and they provided a certificate of "effective" completion and statement explaining that my completion of the program was "successful."
