Nanette, as I told you last night on the phone I am sorry the pizza wasn't cut in squares as requested in the notes. I will however clear up a few points from your comment. You called us back at 2:20am after we had closed, the ovens were off, and we were about to head out the door. I answered the phone and said " Thank you for calling Sarpino's, I'm sorry we are currently closed, is there any other way I can help you today" as I always do after close. You then screamed, yeah you guys f** up my pizza, I ordered cut in squares and it's cut in triangles!!! I responded by saying I'm sorry about that, could I have your address to look up your order. You gave me the address and after looking up the order I said OK yes I see you ordered your pizza square cut, I'm sorry that has happened, I'd be happy to put a credit on your account to discount your next order. You responded by continuing to scream are you f**ing kidding me, I don't want your f***ing credit, I want a new f**ing pizza now, I can't eat this!!! I said I'm sorry but as I said before we are currently closed, the best I can do is give you a discount off of this or your next order. You (still screaming) said this is f***ing ridiculous, this is your customer service. You're not even going to make me the right pizza and bring it out to me so I can eat? This is horrible service! You need to refund my whole order and come and pick up this f**ing pizza because I can't eat this! I said you know I will refund your entire order tonight however I'll also take you off of our customer list as I think it's best you find another Pizzeria to serve you in the future. You said are you f**ing kidding me, you want to take me off because you guys destroyed my order and it's not edible? I said honestly the way you are speaking and acting is irrational and I don't see it as positive for either of us. You said how the f** am I acting irrational? I said you've been screaming and swearing at me since the beginning of this phone call all because your pizza was cut in triangles instead of squares which I understand is your preference but honestly not the biggest deal. I've remained polite throughout the call and tried to offer a solution and you continue. You said how the f** do you know why I need it cut squares, I can't have it triangles, this is f**ing ridiculous. I said Ok your order has been refunded and I hope another Pizzeria will serve you better, have a good night, and I hung up. Now I always want to fix any problem with a customer's order in whatever way I can, but if you believe it's "rational" and as you stated in your comment "not rude" to be screaming and swearing" over pie cut instead of square cut (which is in fact a "preference", there is no dietary restriction or medical necessity to have square cut) then i cannot see things improving in the future. Furthermore I as the owner happened to be the one that answered the phone which is the only reason I stayed on the phone as long as I did. My employees are instructed to end any call immediately in which customers are yelling, swearing, or being derogatory as they shouldn't have to deal with that. Yes occasionally things will happen and an order will come not exactly as you had hoped and we will try to make it right, but there is a civilized and adult way to communicate these things and there are irrational, childish and inappropriate ways to communicate them and we simply won't deal with the latter.
