"Dear Team at Bankers Life, Jim has been loyal client since 1970, faithfully paying $3,976.55 annually for an insurance plan designed to provide much-needed assistance during challenging times. Unfortunately, my 100-year-old grandfather, a policyholder of over 50 years, recently had his policy canceled due to a missed payment while grieving the loss of his wife of 77 years. This missed payment resulted from an unfortunate oversight. His social security payments, which went directly into the account used for the insurance payment, were inadvertently stopped. As he was deeply grieving, he overlooked the notice from your end. As soon as we discovered the issue, we sent a letter explaining the situation, only to have it rejected as it fell outside your allowed window. While I understand the need for policies and deadlines, I urge you to reconsider in light of these unique circumstances. We are talking about a policy that has seen investment to the tune of approximately $198K over the decades. This is not a case of a habitual defaulter but an elderly gentleman who is mourning the loss of his lifelong partner. The application of policy without empathy can sometimes lead to unjust outcomes. I believe this is one such case. My hope is that by sharing our story, we can work together to find a more compassionate solution, perhaps one that could prevent similar situations in the future. Be prepared to grind your first year and be in the office twice a week. After that first year the career can be very lucrative and rewarding for the checkbook.
