During a visit I asked the Nurse Practitioner Amy Larson if I remember correctly if I should be on both oral Minoxidil and Finasteride and she said just the oral Minoxidil was fine. I have since gotten a hair transplant and the doctor who performed the surgery Dr. Shapiro said that he recommends me to be on both for the best results, and so I'm back on both now and am as a result disappointed in Nurse Practitioner Larson, her incompetent medical advice, and your services in general. The PRP shots seemed to be a waste of money ($1,500) and the only thing that seemed to be worthwhile were the nose treatments for Telectasia which were successful although I had the same treatment done for cheaper and without the insurance hassles at Essentia Duluth and the prescriptions. Your parking lot is an absolute nightmare to get in and out of and is oftentimes full or close to full. One time when I was there some poor college girl was trying to back her folk's nice new huge expensive Silverado type truck out of there and literally was not even able to back the truck out herself and had to come inside begging someone to help her back out the parking lot was so ridiculously tight and full - not a good impression on your business. Bottom line is your services are overpriced with minimal face time, Amy Larson while very kind, friendly, and caring seems unfortunately to be somewhat incompetent. You use Nurse Practitioners instead of Doctors. One would think that would lower the price of services due to the lower level of expertise and qualifications but unfortunately it does not and actually the reverse is true - it's actually more expensive with less expertise. Dealing with your billing department is a nightmare causing many insurance issues, stress, and headaches. Bottom line is that in my experience, Twin Ports Dermatology is overpriced, provides substandard incompetent care overall, with minimal face time and minimal results. In the future should I require any dermatological services I will be returning to Essentia Health and Dr. Ron Shapiro of Hair Transplant Services of Eagan, Minnesota to receive better care, value, and more competent services.

I filled out online form and I got a call from front desk gal.. she was right out the gate really confused that I wanted to be seen to hopefully get prescription for topical tretinoin. I explained my skin history briefly and what Im looking for, she was still confused on who I wanted to see. I dont know how it works, so set me up with whoever it is that I need to see to reach what I am looking for. Anyways, great response time for online appt form, but very unhelpful with information following. I probably would have waited until April (their next appt opening) if the phone call was better.
