Dugan, thank you for your business. We would like the opportunity to make some clarifications to your comments as we don’t find that it paints a fair portrait of how we conduct business. When you came to us, your policy was presented & accepted by you, and placed 3+ years ago, your carrier was in tremendous financial strength and had been around for 130+ years. The terms of your policy were/are far better than the one it replaced. It was only in the last few months that your carrier’s AM Best credit rating has been temporarily downgraded due to a couple of consecutive record-breaking storm years across the Midwest + rapidly rising reconstruction costs. They continue to pay claims fairly and promptly and operate as usual & at no time has your coverage been interrupted. Your carrier is far from alone in this matter, this impacts everybody in varying ways. We have never made a recommendation to anybody, ever, that we didn't firmly believe to be in our client's best interest. That's not who we are. We have been in touch with you months prior to your upcoming renewal to work on a replacement policy. We also know you’re upset by their decision to ask for repairs. These repairs are not immediately required, and a renewal offer has been prepared. Every carrier asks that homes meet certain minimum underwriting standards, this is to prevent possible future damage like water intrusion. Everything has been done to the best of our abilities, which every other review, and thousands of our clients, will confirm. We’re sorry to lose your business after years of working together, but please let us know when you’d like us to terminate your policies.
