    UPDATE: a manager reached out and was very nice about the whole ordeal. As for that and taking accountability etc. My rating is up. UPDATE: checked in between 5:00-5:30pm didnt get a damn room for my sister until 6:03 pm. Ill start off at weve been going here since early early 2000s when I was a child. It was wonderful back then. So much activities and stuff to do. The workers were interactive, always clean rooms / areas Stayed this weekend and am EXTREMELY disappointed. My sister waited to 6:00pm to check into her room. Her room didnt have a shower curtain, had exposed live wires out of the wall, no working phone, no soaps, no towels, no cups, dirty floors in all 3 rooms, in our room the toilet was soo loud each night. 2 rooms had no heat. Says for the breakfast buffet theyd have the Easter bunny - wasnt even there and workers acted like they didnt know we were talking about. Such a let down for the kids! We were there 8am -8:45 am. Ordered pizza and had a long hair in it. Went to great activities, the host was horrible. Not trying to be mean! She talked so low, wasnt interactive at all. Was so boring I heard other families saying the same things. The fans, and vents are soo dirty in the pool area as well to mention. My family has been here so much. When I was younger 2-3 x a year, we have spent over $30,000 here at minimum over the years, it was our tradition until our dad died then we stopped for about 7 years came back few years ago. Same thing. , tried again and unfortunately this will no longer be our go to place any more. My sister and I have our own kids now and wanted it to be like how we were as kids and its not. We remember Halloween costume parties being a blast, karaoke, people bringing in animals, welcome dinner, movies for kids, events. Actually interactive with the guest. The price went up and activities / events went down. The rooms are dirty. We are so saddened by this. We got three rooms, couldnt check in on time. Were not up to code or clean. Such a let down this weekend for not only our kids but us as well. Thank you for the great memories we had as kids but its time we got else were to continue a tradition.     We stumbled across this resort in the early 2000s are kids loved the welcome dinner. And activities we started out. On a Halloween event weekend went on to Christmas, easters, as time goes on we did this last Easter. Not too impressed, I was starting out with the grandkids now. The bingo was started as checkin time 5. 1 girl doing events, nice but not enthusiastic. We ended up going to town for an Easter egg hunt and off to a local nursery event on. Saturday. The Sunday morning breakfast didn't even have the Easter bunny in attendence. Room was updated but another story there.kinda sad how everything changed in the last 20 yrs..

    Unfortunately nothing like it ever was. Event host is extremely young an isnt upbeat for the kids for when they held events for the Easter weekend. Also no location of the events going on ,on the event page. Had to leave the resort to go to Easter events located in town to make the kids weekends more eventful Fire place didnt not provide heat a thermostats did not work. Waited a hour to check in as it should had been ready by 5pm. Front desk never sent a text or called when it was ready . I called multiple times & had to get a call back about ten mins later stating it was ready. Still was not. once it was ready, it got to our room and door was propped open with the deadbolt lock. So it was left open .Coffee pot, ice bucket and tray were flipped beside the leaking sink. Telephone to contact front desk had exposed wires and no cord to the telephone itself. No shower curtain. Thankfully my sisters room was next to ours an we could use hers for meantime til housekeeping could bring towels and curtain. We left our room and came back with a bag of towels just sitting on our floor by the door. Had to contact front desk with my sister phone in her room. A guy came an said he left towels. Which was in the bag. He had to come back again with a shower curtain an send maintenance man to help with our phone issue. Thankfully it was fix with the phone itself but wiring was not. As I feel this is a fire hazard ?!? Also have two under two roaming the room did not settle my stress level or them being zapped or hurt. Only thing clean was the bedding . Over 20 years of going to this fun resort an hoping to pass on the amazing experiences I had as a child to our children. We are now no longer going to be returning. Rooms: Described up. Hi Stephanie, please accept our apologies that your stay wasn't as you remembered. It would appear there was some miscommunication at the front desk and we apologize for that, we are in the process of testing and implementing an automatic text system to let people know when the room is ready. We reviewed our maintenance and housekeeping requests and understand that the housekeeper did not deliver the service you should have gotten. There was no mention of the heat not working but they did find and fix the exposed phone wires on Sunday. We asked our maintenance director to review all maintenance logs and calls to make sure we didn't miss anything. We also asked our Front Desk Manager if she talked to you about any of your concerns at check out and sadly did not. Our staff at Cragun's wants to ensure that your room and stay is comfortable and we encourage our guests to speak up while here and if needs be ask for a manager.You're right, our prices have gone up as we have invested in our resort and other expenses have climbed substantially as with all businesses but we feel we are competitive and often offer special sales. With respect to your comment about the activities, in the FunTimes, it clearly stated that the Easter Bunny was going to be arriving in the dining room at 9am, it is such a shame that you and your kids missed him by 15minutes. We apologize that our staff was not better informed and we are working to improve that. Yours was not a typical experience at Cragun’s and we are very sorry you and your kids were disappointed. We take our guest feedback seriously and want to make improvements in our processes, procedures and learn from situations like yours so future guests can create traditions much like you remember.If you need any further assistance, please reach out to our Director of Guest Experience and Operations. Thank you for your review Tina and we are sorry that your weekend did not live up to your expectations. Looking at the Funtimes the activity location is on there but I think could have been more prominent and that has been passed on to our marketing team. We are currently testing an automatic “room is ready” text system so when the desk gets busy messages still get out in a timely manner. We apologize for the unacceptable level of service you received from housekeeping and that is being addressed. We expect better from our team and this is very unusual. The wires you mentioned were just phone wires and presented no hazard but that should have been communicated to you so you didn’t worry while we waited for the replacement part. We had to stop using wood burning fireplaces and replace them with electric ones, they are for ambience rather than heat, this saves energy and they are safer if kids touch the glass. We so appreciate you have wonderful memories from your own childhood and wanted to recreate them for your kids and are sad we let you down. I have spoken with your sister and hope that you choose to give us another chance and enjoy a more typical Cragun’s stay.
