The staff in the dental clinic is professional and caring. The problem is getting an appointment. The online appointment request system does not work.

Im glad I dismissed the negative reviews because I had nothing but a positive experience from reception to the hygienist to the dentist yesterday. If anything changes when I go back for my filling in a month Ill update, but I cant imagine that it will.

I would give ZERO, if that was an option. PLEASE READ... BUYER BEWARE!!! I went in for an annual cleaning and Dr. Koratkar advised me that I needed a crown on one of my lower right molars. I was disappointed but scheduled the appointment. From the beginning, this was a nightmare. The front desk lady told me that I had to pay up front for the crown. I told her that I have insurance and that I wanted it to process through the insurance first, and then I would pay them with my HSA card once it processed through my insurance. Then, they refused to start my care until I signed this arbitrary waiver saying that I will pay whatever my insurance didn't pay. I didn't want to sign it, but they forced me to do so. I have spent countless hours on the phone between the insurance company and the provider trying to get this bill paid. I have insurance that has coverage for crowns. I would not have had a crown done if it wasn't dentally necessary, but apparently that's what the insurance plan is saying; it wasn't dentally necessary, and the dental records that HP Apple Valley provided did not back up the dentally necessary part. In fact, a replaced filling would have been more appropriate. A crown costs over $1000, where a filling is around $100 (after insurance). It's unfortunate that it appears that I was "up-charged/serviced" to simply make them more money. I had been leaving messages for Melissa Cleveland, the Clinic Manager at HP Apple Valley Denal, since August 2023 to try to figure something out. I believe I had left about eight voicemail messages at her direct line for her before I called the clinic vs her directly and asked for her supervisor. I was then told to "give Melissa another chance" and they took my name and number down in December 2023 and told me that she would call me back within 48 business hours. I did not hear back. I called to make an appointment for my son on 2/27/2024 for a tooth extraction that was recommended he have done in order to move into orthodontic work. This was also recommended by Dr. Koratkar, but SURPRISE, there were no dental records suggesting that he needed an extraction. (Just solidifies that proper documentation is not key here.) I also, again, asked for the Supervisor again. They again took down my contact information and told me to give Melissa another chance, and that she would call me back in 24 hours. Melissa finally called on 2/29/2024 and blamed everything on my insurance company and took no responsibility for the clinic's lack of dental record documentation, or her lack of response to my calls. This woman was the most condescendingly rude person I have ever had the pleasure of talking with. I would not recommend this dental clinic to my worst enemy. They do not care about their patients; all they care about is money. And it's not that I don't have the money, I do. It's the principle of the matter; if I needed a filling refilled, do that. Don't force a crown on someone. I asked if we could settle this together and if there was any way they could offer a cash price since insurance isn't covering. She very snottily said, "No, we cannot and will not do that. Your insurance is the worst to work with, it's not our fault." I said, "So it's the member that is stuck in the middle's fault?" (Seems appropriate.)
