A pleasant surprise stop on our drive north. Staff is all very knowledgeable and friendly. Ive been to many butterfly houses and really enjoyed the special elements to this one. My first time seeing an Axolotl IRL! Thanks so much

Such a sweet little place! Have already been a couple times and I look forward to getting back. The Butterfly area is so peaceful and dreamy. It is really magical to be inside and watch the butterflies, and if you are lucky, have them land on you. The staff answered all questions and were very enthusiastic about being there. The bug zoo is also great! Especially for youth! The staff even let you hold some of the bugs and that is quite an experience. Gift shop is even fun. The tickets are reasonably priced, making it a super great little stop when you are Up North.

The butterfly and bug zoo is awesome. Definitely recommended for children or just butterfly lovers. Kettlewells ice cream is also good.

Great staff that show a visible interest in the exhibits and explained them in a wonderful and fun way. This is a great place to go if you're in the area.

TLDR: stop here if you visit the area!! All ages and groups will have a good time.
This is a super cool, worthy visit. It's well worth the stop.
Our group was: 13 year old boy, 31 year old man, 31 year old woman.
We ALL had an amazing time.
Starting with the butterfly room, and the great staff there, we had butterflies "not follow the rules" and randomly land on us, as well as staff offer to let them rest on us when available. We enjoyed the selected visits, as well as the others, and removal of either at will.
Onto the insects and the incredibly knowledgeable staff for that part.
We all learned a lot, about a lot! We all gained a whole new appreciation for even the insects any of us didn't like.
If you have a fear of spiders, there is a small cove with spiders and spider like insects, that is easily avoidable (they're all in that small area) but I would also suggest going into despite your fear (not only calming facts about the spiders, but especially the NOT spiders! I was almost mindblown!)
