Country Hermitage our home base for a lovely summer weekend. A beautifully restored tribute to an earlier era, it has just the right modern amenities to make it a comfortable, delightful place to stay. Eric & Misty's warm hospitality set the tone for guests to mingle in the main floor gathering rooms and on the porch overlooking the cherry orchard, lingering over coffee or tea. Their stories about the history of the building, the farm & the Grand Traverse area increased our appreciation for this unique region. The morning breakfast and afternoon cookies were delightful, delicious expressions of Eric's culinary creativity. We encourage him to write that 'farm to table' cookbook, and we'd like to add our names to the waiting list for advance copies

My first time to Michigan and to a bed and breakfast to boot and I must say, this experience set all others that will follow up for some pretty huge expectations! Eric and Misty were so incredibly hospitable and Erics cooking was absolutely scrumptious!!! From the freshly baked cookies every evening when we returned from a day of adventuring to the 2 course breakfasts of deliciousness that start our days, and everything in between was amazing, to say the least! Misty even provided us with a vase so we could have freshly cut lilacs in our room! If youre looking for a place to stay near Traverse City, this is a must go to! Thank you both for such a wonderful experience!!!

This is the ultimate B&B experience. I could write a book on how amazing this place is. A beautiful historic house on a 400-acre cherry farm, with such attention to detail. Just outside of Traverse gives you quiet privacy and a perfect location to start your vacation in any direction in the area. Misty and Eric are excellent hosts. And you will not have a better breakfast than what Eric will create for you. He is a world class Chef. And his breakfasts are 5 star perfection. The room was charming and clean, super comfortable bed, with all needed amenities, a private bath with a jet tub. Everything was perfect. Immaculate landscaped back overlooking acres of cherry trees, and with a beautiful water feature flowing down to the pond where you can spend a romantic evening around a fire as the sun sets. The views are great and there are so many little details you can enjoy you will definitely want to come back.

Thank you Deb! It was a delight to meet you and your family. A cookbook by Eric would certainly be a popular one. You may have to visit again and try to talk him into it. Thank you for the review and for the opportunity to introduce you to a small portion of what makes Northern Michigan so special.
