Until the GM vote a few years ago, the parking lot at the Fracassa dog park was safe. During the vote Local 160 opened the gate and hasnt closed it since. They are putting their convenience over that of the dog park users. They have two driveways on the west side of their property. The guy in the GMC SUV almost hit a park member recently and I've personally witnessed him flying through the parking lot on several occasions. It has also allowed frequent traffic to cut through the lot regularly.
I reached out to the Mayor's office and they informed me that the union office has refused to honor the request to close the gate and there's nothing the city can do about it.
Union laziness over public safety is their motto, otherwise they'd close their gate like it had been since at least 2007 when I started using the adjacent dog park.
