Hello Linda, thanks for the unfortunate review. As you can see from the hundreds of other 5 star satisfied reviews across the internet, Nickel Appliance is not in the habit of providing poor and or inaccurate service. Fair pricing, accurate diagnostics, good customer service, and doing the right thing when things go wrong (rarely), is what drives these reviews!Your refrigerator: Model# wrv986fdem01 is a whirlpool gold series unit, a "Top of the line" machine. Not in our opinion, for multiple reasons. They are one of the most intricate machines to service and almost always expensive to repair. Unfortunately we do not make the part prices, whirlpool (The manufacture) does this. We have to purchase these parts in order to repair the machine. (We do NOT use aftermarket parts) all of our parts come from the maker of your machine and do come with a 1 year part and labor warranty! Your machine needed two high end icemakers, they are not cheap! This cost can not be mitigated by us in any way shape or form, the labor for that matter is also higher do to the complexity of the installation and the level of professionalism required to complete the job according to manufacture specifications. Each of our technicians does utilize the internet with their phones/tablets/computers to locate part numbers, availability, location, and service bulletins (Which include videos provided by the manufacture) that correlate with the problem your machine is and or was having. Would you rather a technician guess his way through a repair, or get information straight from the people that engineered it? We do service ALL MAKES AND MODELS for: Washers, Dryers, Stoves, Ranges, Dishwashers, Microwaves, Garbage Disposals, wall ovens, and refrigerators. Units that are 50 years old, units that are 1 year old. This is what WE do. With that being said, it is extremely unreasonable to assume that our technicians will know EVERYTHING about EVERY appliance, in this ever evolving world of technology more and more issues can be related to a control board failure or an electrical or wiring issue. Newer units have SERVICE BULLETINS that any PROFESSIONAL technician would look for prior to ASSUMING what the issue is with your machine, it is simply part of the repair and diagnostic process. As you stated in your review, we are in fact interested in fixing the unit and we DO know what is wrong with it, you just didn't want to spend the money to get it repaired. This should not be confused with our desire to provide service. As for pricing, we use the nationwide standard for pricing provided by Service Company Solutions LLC (Major appliance service price guide) to ensure you are getting a fair and reasonable rate based on labor code, part cost and model#. Our prices are as honest as they can possibly be. Any reputable company will use this pricing structure to provide a fair and honest quote! We did arrive within our specified 2pm to 6pm window. This would be considered ON TIME by most customers. I wish you would have contacted me prior to writing your ill informed negative review, maybe I could of worked on the price or further explained why it was so expensive to repair. Instead, we were not given the oppurtunity and you have harmed our reputation through lack of knowledge and anger. High end appliances often have high end repair bills. This is the same in many industries. Automotive especially. It should come as no surprise that your $5000 refrigerator wasnt $50 to repair.
