This was so much fun and the kids really enjoyed it as well. It's hard to imagine working in those mines every day considering the conditions. You'll walk away with an all new respect for anyone who works in a mine. There a stop where they cut the lights and you stand there in the dark for a few moments. It might not seem like much but it's dark on a level most folks will never experience. Sadly, my experience was partially spoiled by some comedian who turned on their cell phone light. To prove what? That flashlights exist? Anyway, do the tour, pickup something cool in the gift shop, check out the history while you're at it.

Totally worth it - went on a whim because I've wanted to go for a long time and the people were nice, the tour I think was priced well, the tour guide was fun and did a great job, and even the nick-nacks in the shop were interesting and also priced where it was fun to get one or two things. Waaaaaaaay more pleasant than I was expecting.
