In a profession dominated by jackals and hyenas, Nick Kowalski is a lion, an eagle, a mythical creature. My wife and I hired Nick and his company, Shugart Builders, to build our home in Long Lake Township. We had heard horror stories from friends about their experiences with builders. Nick Kowalski is different. He JUST. GETS. IT. Nick responded to every email, phone call, and text. He and his staff were consummate professionals throughout the entire project. Hes honest too. Never did I feel like he was manipulating me into making a decision solely because it would earn him more money. We did a few change orders, of course. But with each one, Nick went over the different options, explained the pros and cons, but never put any pressure on us to make a decision derived from his profit motive. Shugart Builders work quality is excellent. We hired an inspector to inspect the house after it was finished. The inspector raved about the quality of the workmanship. One of carpenters, Mike, in particular, did some really great work on our house. I waited several months to post this review, to see if anything came up and how Nick would deal with it. Well, a few small things have come up, and Nick has responded to our inquiries and taken care of everything. I just cannot say enough good things about Shugart Builders. We LOVE our house. Thank you so much!
