I was a member of this department briefly in 2017. Great people, very dedicated. I wish them success with their future plans for expansion and ALS transport.

On July 25, 2021 my husband, a stroke survivor, fell in our garage. He didn't sustain any obvious injuries but I was unable to get him up from the floor. We live alone together with no local family and our neighbors were gone for the day. I had no one to help me. I called 911 and explained our situation and that it was NOT an emergency but needed help getting him back into his motorized wheelchair. "Matt" from the Long Lake Fire Department, and one other gentleman who name (unfortunately) I don't remember arrived to save the day. My husband had some bumps and bruises but nothing that required a trip to the ER (thankfully). Matt and his fellow responder could not have been more helpful, kind and sensitive. He stayed for awhile, making sure that things were okay with us both. These days it seems like people only like to point out the "bad" things that happen with our police, fire and safety teams. The Long Lake Fire Department responders have proven that we DO live in a good time and a good place. Thank you, Matt and all the members of the LLFD for being there when you are needed.
