Rude and redline black people in Detroit we are hung up on and out cases are closed based on zip code and being a majority black community. Our food case was decreased when the rest of the state was getting an increase in stamps. Now I've turn in the yearly review 4 times twice through website and twice catching a ride up there. We still don't have food at all been eating what we can find until dhs feels like not hanging up on Detroiters like me. I love in Detroit but Taylor is in charge of what resources I have. Imagine someone more privileged then you deciding if you deserve to eat or not. Fix your system so everyone has a fair shot at survival I have a child young as 3!

This is the worst DHS place I've dealt with. U can't talk to a human & when u go up there they dont give u straight answers. I've been trying to get back on Medicaid since November 2023 after just having a baby in August, they decided to wait 3 months & cut me off & not even tell me why. I need to have a biopsy of my cervix to check for cancer & I can't even do that now. Try to apply under my husband almost 3 months ago & I just get a letter saying im ineligible with no answer to why? I'm the only one in a family of 5 that is without insurance. So I'm angry. Cancer runs in my family so now I have to worry about having cancer & not able to go get checked out because they cut me off. Why? My mom 2nd aunt is dying right now in hospice due to CERVICAL CANCER. It's in my genes. So I have to suffer. Why? Because DHS doesn't want to do their job.

My paperwork states I can call Taylor DHS and request a hearing. It's 2pm in the afternoon and I called them, listened to the phone prompts and the automatic message hangs up on you after telling you to wait for and operator. This government program makes it hard on the people in our community therefore can be more of a hindrance. How can the one percent practice nepotism and have all they need and hoard resources and not leave but crumbs for the rest of us. The American people are not getting their needs met. People are suffering even when there is enough food to go around. Fft
