"Like it never happened." What a joke. Water heater sprung a leak and flooded the back half of our basement on August 2nd. Within a week they had the basement dried out and everything out in storage that had to come out. Floor tile was removed and some tile board and drywall that was wet, or had to be checked for damage. The only complaint I have with this crew is that when they took the two doors off that were wet and not able to be reused they did not keep the door knobs or hinges. We had a kitchen that was ruined and they left the drawers and some of the doors from the cabinets, knobs were not taken off to be reused even though nothing was wrong with them. I would have thought the next crew would do that, but they began throwing them out until I stopped them. I figured I could use them as long as they weren't. I signed the contract to begin work on getting everything back to normal on September 8th. The next crew came in to begin tearing the tile board off and begin applying the new tile board. They started by cutting the tile board where it met the drop ceiling. When I asked them they said that is the way it is done and trim would go up to the ceiling to cover the gap. I let them go and after four weeks I talked to my insurance agent about the shody work and he told me to get ahold of Nick instead of waiting till the end. The crew was gone for a week with Covid and I had Nick come out. He told me the trim would cover the gaps. I told him that is not the point. That would not be like it never happened. He then told me he would have to eat the price of the tile board and he would see if insurance would cover the price of taking the ceiling tile down. I would think he would have to negotiate with me also as it was me that signed the contract for the work. Insurance company approved taking the ceiling down and reset for $2275.43. I would never have paid that if I had any say in it, which I should have. I could have done it myself in three or four hours. Looks like the insurance company paid for the tile board also. This crew was also using staples and glue to hang the tile board. While they were waiting for more tile board, this crew started laying the tile, which I would think would be the last thing to do. They left a spot that did not get snapped together good and just continued on. The next crew came in and took the tile board down that the previous crew had put up. They took the drop ceiling down and finished taking down the rest of the tile board from the original installation. They ran out of tile board and had to finish the floor. I originally had two different tiles in the five rooms and they talked me into using one tile so I didn't have to have any. I showed the flaw between the kitchen and family room to the manager and he told me it would be fixed. The next crew went in to the kitchen right from where the mistake was without fixing it. We ended up finding another spot in the furnace room from the first crew. Both spots finally got repaired. They had to take out quite a few pieces that were glued down. In the end there were two thresholds put down because of the mistakes and the final crew started at the back of the bathroom or away from what was already there and ended up with a threshold. So from zero thresholds to three. I have a bulkhead in the kitchen where the hot air duct goes through. Because of the kitchen cabinets not much of the tile board shows. However, I had to show both crews how it shold be done so the pattern matched up with the other walls. You can't start at the bottom going up and then start at the bottom of the bulkhead and go down. Pattern just won't match. I would have to say both of these crews are wood butchers. I forgot to mention it but, the second crew used pin nails to attach the tile board along with glue. If you go to Menards site and look for tileboard it will show a video on how to install tile board. No fasteners are used. Only glue. I will never hire this crew again. I also will have a talk with my insurance company..

The SerPro crew Cody, Jarid, and Gavin did a get job removing all the wet damaged flooring and drying out my basement rooms. They were knowledgeable of the job at hand and finished the job in a timely manner. Butch & Donny, the reconstruction crew, rebuilt my basement rooms that were damaged by water. They did a great job and I'm very pleased with the results!
