Bewaretheres something fishy going on at this Ameriprise office. They recently kicked my fathers account to the curb (or, as they put it, transferred to the Minneapolis headquarters) with no warning, the sketchiest of explanations, and with nothing in writing. This isnt a $25,000 account- its a 7 figure account. As hard as I tried to understand and communicate patiently with this office, it just wasnt happening. Emails and phone calls went unanswered. I lodged a written complaint with Ameriprise corporate and a mediator followed up with 2 phone calls. Although he agreed the circumstances were very strange and not handled well, ultimately that was that. My dads account is now in a much more well-managed, professional, and friendly office. In the end, it took a ridiculously bad experience to get to a much better place. Do your homework before trusting your money to this Ameriprise office. There are so many better options in southwest Michigan.
