BUYER BEWARE!! John's Jewelry (John) is DISHONEST with his product, his selling tactics, and with $$ transactions. It appears John has more friends posting positive reviews, than customers. Sheesh! I put earrings on layaway just before COVID, but I remained in contact with John to make pmt arrangements. A year later I was ready to pay it off and pick them up, and that's when 'John' tried to say he needed time to find them. This happened a few times during a 2 month period after that day. Then finally, he claimed to have 'found' them. He wouldn't show them to me until I made final pmt, which I paid $140. But once I saw the earrings, it was clear as day they were NOT the same ones I put on layaway! These earrings are dull & pitiful, and they are smaller than the ones I originally picked out. I mentioned the descrepancy, but he just kept blowing me off. Incidentally, I put $500 down on a Ring that same day. John relentlessly pushed it on me. I just wanted my earrings, but John was super aggressive by pushing the ring on my finger, and telling me what a great deal I was getting. He never stopped pushing! John said the ring was a 1.5 ct pear-shaped diamond and was worth $3500, but he would give it to me for $1,500. Finally I agreed to put the ring on layaway with $500 deposit just to shut him up and get my earrings. I set up layaway with my deposit. Then I asked him to show me the diamond ring's certificate to reveal the clarity & color, but he did not. He told me that he will write one up for me at a later date. WTH? He can make up anything he wants and put it on paper, but that's not the legitimate certificate. THAT's when he proceeded to cheat me with the earrings (as noted above). Scammed, twice in one day!! I was so upset that I drove straight to my bank and discussed the situation with them. They gave me some advice, and I returned to John's Jewelry within 2 hours of putting $500 down from my bank Debit Card on the diamond ring. I told him I need to cancel the layaway transaction. In the USA, you have 3 business days from the time of purchase to cancel the transaction & request your money back if you change your mind for whatever reason. My reason was clear: I was being scammed. My phone was on and recorded my conversation with John as I tried to cancel the transaction, but John refused to give me my $500 back from just 2 hours earlier!! I never took posession of the ring, either. My bank accepted the audio recording of this guy "John" pretending to cry when I told him I didn't want the ring he was pushing on me; and they heard his blatant refusal to cancel the transaction as he lied to me. The claim that my bank filed for me resolved the issue and he was forced to return my $500. And I was able to stop pmt on the $140 final pmt for the earrings, too. I'll NEVER buy any jewelry from John's Jewelry ever again! I hope nobody else falls for John's lies & dishonesty.
