David Shuman and the Bay North Reality team were great to work with related to purchasing our property in Northern Michigan. David was very professional, responsive, and a great consultant. He showed us that he really knows the area, understands the market, and clearly has a high level of expertise in his field. I used a realtor that works at this location. Upon selling my home, the contract clearly stated that I was not to leave any of my belongings behind. My furniture, my rugs, anything. However, my realtor told the buyers verbally that I would be leaving my furniture. When I was packing up my belongings, my realtor informed me that the buyers wanted to know the size of my beds and a few other items they wanted. But these belong to me and the contract says Im not leaving them. She told me that the buyers may back out of the deal if I took certain items, even though it wasnt in the contract. Upon leaving the items I was told to leave, during the buyers final walk through, they demanded that some of the furniture be removed or they would back out. I contacted my realtor to ask about the confusion 24 hours before closing and she ignored me. I think she knew she had messed up and it was costing me thousands in cash and personal belongings. Upon contacting the owner of Bay North, he offered nothing for me and went as far to insult me and ignore the 25 screenshots I sent him corroborating exactly what I said above. They cost me $6500, made $25,000 and insulted me. Terrible. Beware!

I contacted Heather Robinson to sell my home. I met her in person, was very excited because she was so nice, so patient, and seemed to care. Come to find out, when she found a buyer, she offered Dual Agency representation, which I declined. So she said she would get a different realtor to represent the buyers. I live in Beaver Island and it is a small community so people talk and secrets are hard to keep. While having a drink at the bar one night, one of my island friends drank a bit too much and told me that she was paying another realtor on the side and she was informing them (behind my back) what my bottom dollar was and thats what they offered. And now all the realtors on the island knew what I would accept, causing me to miss out on tens of thousands of dollars. David Shuman denied that this happened and I have no proof. I contacted the ethical board in Michigan and they asked if I had proof, which I did not, save the word from a friend of mine who is close to the other realtors on the island. Somethings up with this place. I wouldnt trust them. You should use Ed Wojan instead. Hes not honest but, at least he doesnt steal from you.

David Shuman and Bay North Realty put the client first and truly listen and help make the best decision possible whether it is buying or selling real estate. They value your business and have your best interests at heart throughout the entire process. They care about the town and community they are in and it shows in the way they do business at all levels. I cant say enough good things about them. I can guarantee you will be in good hands with Bay North Realty
