Ryan was an exceptional craftsman to work with when finishing our basement. He has a wealth of knowledge, experience, and insight he provides as he works to make your basement ideas come to life. When we first were looking to have the basement finished, the one thing that stood out with Ryan was his attention to detail, his honesty, his responsiveness and expediency. We originally chose to hire Ryan because he would finish our project quickly; he comes everyday until your job is done. He plans the project and executes it perfectly. No detail escapes his notice. Sometimes, things would bother him more than me! He was always honest about costs and what was possible and what was not. He is pleasant and authentic in his demeanor and was great to my kids on the few times they ran downstairs to see what Mr Ryan had accomplished that day. When he started the work, he was very tidy and always tried to be as unobtrusive as possible while working on our home. It took him only 2 months to complete our basement, and that is only because of the solid wood stair install. I don't think we have any negative thing to say about Ryan, honestly. I wish he could remodel the rest of my house! If you want someone who will give your project all the attention it deserves, look no further than Overmyer Construction.

I would recommend Ryan to anybody looking to have their basement finished in the area. In my ~10 years of home ownership, Ryan is the easiest contractor I've ever worked with. He is super responsive to calls and texts, knowledgeable in his craft, and is personable to top it all off. We had our basement finished by Ryan towards the end of 2022, and the completed product exceeds our expectations. We liked a lot of things about our experience, but here are some things that stand out: - Ryan does about 95% of the work himself. I don't like it when it seems like there's a revolving door of subcontractors, all pointing fingers at each other when something goes wrong, but this wasn't the case here. - Ryan has smart solutions for problems. One example: After the project started, my wife and I decided we wanted to add a finished closet *somewhere* in the basement. After a night of brainstorming, my wife and I pitched about 3-4 ideas to him the next day on where it could go. Ryan calmly and clearly explained why all of our ideas were bad (lol) but he found the perfect spot in like 10 seconds that we never even considered. - Ryan was very accommodating to another unique situation we had: Our toddler was home from daycare every Friday for the duration of the project and we were concerned the construction noise would impact his naps. But Ryan made a point to do more "quiet work" during our son's nap time and it was never once a problem. - Ryan came back for a day after our project was officially finished to reattach our stair railing and do other touch ups that were necessary after our carpet install and couch delivery. Also, with the project now finished, he still responds to my questions about our basement with the same urgency as when we were a potential customer. To keep this review fair, I feel like I should list out some things that we did not love about our experience, but I feel like these are pretty minor: - He does not do demolition, so we had to hire another company before Ryan started to remove our terribly done partially finished basement left by the previous owners of the home. This wasn't the end of the world though, and Ryan made this very clear from his first visit so we had ample time to prepare. - We wanted carpet in our main living area, and Ryan doesn't install carpet himself. We had to hire somebody else after Ryan was finished to carpet the floor, but this worked out fine in the end and I would expect you would be in a similar situation with other contractors. Overall, we love the work that Ryan did for us. We're still in the decorating phase, but I included a couple pictures of his work with this review. If you're looking to get your basement finished, I would highly recommend contacting Ryan, I don't think you will regret it.

If you are looking to finish your basement with the comfort and knowledge of a job done right, I would look no further than Overmyer Construction! Ryan is meticulous in his craft and work. His attention to detail and knowledge base is top notch. Ryan is prompt, responsive, and dependable. He will bring your basement ideas to life. Notably, he built beautiful shelving for my dry bar after I causally showed him a picture I saw on Pinterest. The real life product was even better and more creative than the picture (see attached picture--that lighting, c'mon)! When things didn't go as planned with the vanity I personally ordered for my basement bathroom, Ryan was there to help offer alternative ideas and solutions and has returned to help even after my project was technically finished. I am so happy we chose Overmyer Construction. The quality of the work will serve our family well for years to come. Absolute 5 star recommendation! Call him today!

This is going to be a little lengthy, but we feel like Ryan deserves the same detail in a review that he put into constructing our basement space. My wife and I decided to hire Ryan to finish our basement in an older home in Plymouth. We definitely would recommend giving Ryan a call if you're considering finishing your basement. I could go on and on why, but two main points struck a chord with us: First of all, Ryan was immediately responsive and able to provide an estimated price range with sq footage based on his experience before even seeing the space. The estimate ended up falling right in line with the actual total cost. We met with several companies that threw us through hoops and tried to say: a) we couldn't get everything we wanted out of the space for our budget and b) we couldn't get a breakdown of the why the quoted estimated prices were as high as they were. I feel like this was bait and switch BS since Ryan was able to deliver what we wanted, within our budget, and we were able to go to the vendors and pick out the fixtures we wanted (i.e. tile, cabinets, hardware, sinks, countertops etc.). Second, when Ryan came out to do an evaluation of the space he noticed our pipes were possibly cast iron under the slab, which he admitted in good conscience he couldn't do work knowing there was potential for a pipe to burst and ruin our investment. So we had to hire a plumbing company to replace all the pipe with PVC, which I truly appreciated because it would have been awful to spend all that money just to have to tear up the floor down the line and redo some of the work. No other individual or company that came to see the space mentioned this, so that's concerning to the say the least. Overall, we got everything we wanted out of the space and whenever an issue came up along the way Ryan was able to communicate to us the issue and come with several solutions to resolve the matter. We would recommend Ryan for his attention to detail, pleasantness, ease to work with, excellent communication and great value for the end result delivered.
