We went out on a Thursday morning, the weather was great and Captain Steve put us on fish before we were fully set up. We had 9 lines in the water and were hitting very well, we ended up with 15 total keepers. Probably the most exciting charter I have been on. I can't say enough good things from price, to equipment, to attention to detail and knowledge. every aspect was spot on. We will be back this fall for a trip on the St. Joe!

We had an excellent experience with Capt. Steve..weather was cold and he still put us on the fish. It was my son's spring break and we caught 5 nice steelhead for the cooler..we already booked for next year for 2 days this time. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good fishing trip.

booked this trip a month in advance for our vacation. he kept trying to put us off multiple days before our trip saying the weather was bad when it clearly wasnt going to be. fishing trip came around and it was perfect weather. we showed up in the morning when we were supposed to meet and he said he would be back in an hour because he needed gas for his boat, we waited three more hours and he never showed up. we tried texting him and he said his boat wasnt in the best shape. wasted a part of our vacation.

First of all, it's important to note that avid fishermen might brush off our grievances with a casual "buyer beware, know your seasons." But this review isn't directed at the enthusiasts; it's for those of us who simply enjoy fishing and want to hire a charter to make the experience memorable. The initial phone conversation left us with high hopes. We asked about the current fishing conditions, seeking guidance. The response was promising, "Great on Lake Michigan for salmon, trout, etc. But not the rivers; they're too hot." Considering that, we booked a morning trip for our fishing-loving teenagers. Upon arriving at the New Buffalo harbor, the captain in charge asked us a crucial question, "Do you want to catch and release or keep your catch?" We opted to keep a bit for dinner, and he assured us, "Oh, no problem, we will catch a lot." Fast forward to our return to the harbor, and we received a text from our son, who proclaimed, "We caught one, better than nothing, but then he added the kicker: "The captain said it's the wrong season." Wait, what? We were dumbfounded. Our frustration peaked during the money exchange with Steve, the captain. We confronted him about the discrepancy, to which he nonchalantly replied, "Not the season; well, we tried, but the fish are dispersed." Blah, blah. Naturally, we asked why he hadn't informed us about this before, to which Steve's response was utterly infuriating: "You should have asked." We reminded him that we had asked in the morning, and he had assured us it would be great. That's when he said "Well, I'm going to cancel tomorrow's charter because it's so bad, if that's any consolation." This is beyond infuriating. Steve markets himself as a seasoned fisherman, but shame on him for not being forthright with his customers. He should have told us the truth, or, at the very least, disclosed that the fishing conditions were less than ideal and allowed us to decide whether to take our chances. This experience left us feeling deceived and utterly disappointed. I would never hire him again. Thanks to Steve and Get Hooked, it gives charter companies a bad name, casting a shadow of doubt over the industry as a whole. Buy beware.
