The double standards kill me. This guy pretty much berates my kid. Talking about how using your hands to talk is disrespectful, but then he can do it, and "It's not the same." ( My child is under age and has severe ADHD) They are supposed to do a debrief with us when they are done, we get a "we had a good talk..." that's it. Don't waste your time. I can tell this guy definitely acts different when parents aren't around.

Kennth Mize, you are amazing, you told us what we needed to hear and how to use structure and be parents! You helped our child learn copingskills, breathing skills and were able to help bridge the gap of communication between us!

This place is terrible. They illegally billed us for Services without signed documents. The therapist took a minor patient out of the office without permission for therapy Services And then brought her back at the end of the visit without any signed permission, slip or verbal consent to do so. The office has admitted that this is in fact, the case, and yet they are billing us anyways. The billing office lady is extremely passive, aggressive and rude, and does not even allow you to get a word in.
We will be contacting an attorney due to their illegal activity and will not let this continue any further.

No, I do NOT recommend this business.
I have been in one type of counseling or another, on and off for 30 years and take helpful medication for depression/anxiety. In October, 2021 (pre-COVID vaccines), I contacted this location for ADHD evaluations. Both of us were evaluated by Dr. Christine Shaw, PsyD, LP. I don't recall ever receiving services from a more disorganized and unprofessional mental health facility. I saw Christine a number of times, both for myself and with my minor child for the ADHD evals. It was during a very difficult time for us. My first impression of Christine was that she was overworked, but I ultimately landed on a different perspective. Christine may have a PhD, but should not be evaluating anyone nor counseling anyone. For whatever reason, her mind was obviously rattled. My experience with her was over a span of about 3 months, and she couldn't keep things straight.
Add to this the fact that the billing was wrong, I was charged for missed appointments, they cancelled appointments and the front desk staff were unpleasant, unhappy and I often saw people (counselors? different receptionists?) hanging out laughing and chatting with each other, yet being snarky/annoyed with me for asking billing questions or checking in and I lost my faith in the establishment. But that was a year and a half ago. Things could change.
Yesterday I received an statement (bill) from Midland Psychological Care. I have not spoken with nor received any communication from them since we received the final ADHD evals in January, 2022. How does a company feel justified to out-of-the-blue send an invoice that's over 18 months old? It doesn't show the initial charge nor how much insurance covered, only the description of the charges and the amount they want me to pay: $790!! What nerve.
So now I'm going through emails, credit/HSA card statements, insurance statements and bank accounts to prove that I already paid for this. I called their office today and the nice person with whom I spoke is having their supervisor call me back. I'll update this review after speaking with them.
