Francis Builders

I received 3 bids for our roof and chose Francis Builders for the roof project (they were in the middle on price). As far as I can tell they generally did a good job. Roof looks good and there are no known issues. There are multiple concerns, however, that were not addressed well. There is an area above the bay window where they left cuts in the wall and water would clearlydrain behind the neighboring siding (see photos). I was just told that it was like that before they came (it was not) and that it wasn't part of the contract. That is true, but clearly leaving it draining behind my siding is not acceptable. I had to pay another contractor to come fix the problem. Also, I had painters here the week after the roof was done and they noted multiple areas that were so soft they were concerned about falling through. These areas were not addressed during the roofing project (I would have asked to replace them rather than wait 20-30 years until the next roofing project and hope they are ok). There are also many areas that appear wavy (see photo). I would have also asked these to be addressed when the shingles were off. I raised concerns to Francis Builders, who stopped by to look, but never responded otherwise. I even reached out one last time to give a chance to address some of the above, to fix the bay window issue, or to cover the cost of the other contractor, and they apologized for some of the communication but that was it. They are hard-working people who I sincerely believe mean well, but I also do not trust them at this stage. So in the end, did I get a good roof? I think so. Man, I sure hope so. Time will tell. But would I use them again? No.

The roof looks great. Thank you for tarping the spot that was leaking to get us through the Winter. Communication was good throughout the entire process. Dale and his crew were friendly and easy to work with!

Very disappointed to say the least. I went out of my way to use a small local business. I figured better service and it helps our local community. It took months for them to come out for our garage roof and siding.. Then when finished I saw the siding was crooked and starting to fall off. Winds came and sure enough the siding came off. It took many emails and phone calls not returned before they finally came out and fixed it! They came onto my property without even telling me that they were coming. So I did not even have the opportunity to inspect as I was not home. I had two more buildings for gutters and they never even tried to earn more business. Also. They were supposed to take care of all of the warranty paperwork and blew me off saying that I had to go to supplier and have them do it! Very unprofessional and very poor communication! Many better options out there. Be careful as grifters are abound!
