The Northern Michigan Retreat

Our family has vacationed here twice and it has quickly become our forest sanctuary. The hope is very comfortable and well appointed to feel like home. The setting is divine with the sound of the cool shallow creek sending you off to sleep. We enjoyed the trails behind the house and the fire pit and grill. Nearby kayaking in the Manistee in the summer or skiing at Crystal Mountain and access to the Manistee trailhead right up the road. We brought our bikes and enjoyed the secluded dirt roads around the house. This setting makes for a perfect retreat space to disconnect from tech and reconnect with nature. We are excitedly planning our return.

This past weekend spent at Northern Michigan Retreat was life changing. Mandy is hands down the absolute best hostess ever. So much love goes into everything she does for the cabin and her guests. There was amazing food prepared and served with love. The hot tea served in the morning followed by yoga was a perfect start to the day. The massage by Liesl was phenomenal. The setting is so warm and inviting. The sounds of the babbling brook, birds chirping, and wind in the trees freshens your soul. We enjoyed campfires with great stories and lots of laughter. What a great place to reconnect with yourself. So thankful I took advantage of this great opportunity.

This really is a wonderful place to relax. The secluded woods are a great break from city stress and the creek that runs through the properity is truly peaceful. And the house is great too, cozy and welcoming. We had everything we needed to feel at home and the kitchen has all the amenities youd need. We really appreciated the welcome binder, which has tons of local info and trail maps. Some of which start right off the properity!! We will definitely be back!! Thanks Amanda

I have stayed at the Northern Michigan Retreat twice, first in January of 2019 for the Detox Retreat and then in September of 2019 for a private women's retreat with a group of friends. It is hard to put into words just how wonderful Mandy and the retreat truly are. The home is meticulous and the surroundings are serene which easily met all of our needs for the weekend. It is set on a quiet dirt road with a flowing creek behind the house that you can hear with the windows open! There is a hammock set up in the woods next to the creek so you can relax, read a book and be one with nature. There are great hiking trails that allow you to enjoy all of your senses while getting great exercise. The cellular service at the home is poor and there's no wi-fi, television or clocks! This is not a detriment, it is a positive! We were able to unplug, unwind and truly enjoy the essence of each other while being surrounded by nature and the caring love of our wonderful hostess Mandy. Mandy has done a fantastic job cultivating the retreat and knows just how to meet each person's needs. I am already looking forward to my next visit! If you have a chance to go, do it! If you feel you don't have a chance, try to find a way as you will thoroughly enjoy the weekend and you never know, it could be life changing like it was for me! P.S. - I just reread my review before posting and does not even begin to do the retreat justice, you will need to see for yourself!
