I love Dickeys and tried the Macomb location for the first time. Great service and food was just as good as the other locations. I love the pulled pork especially.

First time customer and was disappointed. I brought my husband, sister, and sister in law with me. Our salads had no dressing and the food was cold. They forgot our corn muffins and when asked for them, they thought I was just trying to get more bread for free. Almost all of the soda was out of order and so was the ice cream machine. I’m disappointed that I wasted $80. I wanted so bad to like this place!!!

A friend talked this up to me as pretty darn good so I had to go with him. Seeing as smoked meats are one of my main passions, I've been trying to explore and find the best BBQ joints in the area. As such I am very critical, as is usual with my food reviews. Walking in immediatlely after they opened, the staff was friendly and they also hyped up the food, telling me of the history of Dickey's yada yada. I got the three meat platter with pulled pork, ribs and brisket. The store smelled smoky when I walked in, and there was firewood stacked inside so I assumed they would be using charcoal or stick burners. I was wrong. They use electric smokers and that doesn't add much smoke flavor at all. The meat was cooked properly, moistish and texturally okay, but not very well seasoned and just sort of bleh. The baked beans were Bush's canned beans and the mac and cheese tasted like a Stouffer's meal. The staff seemed very eager, but unfortunately it turned out to be just another chain that starts big, and slowly degrades food quality in favor of lower costs. I will not be coming back. My search for good BBQ continues. For reference I smoke my own meats at home with electric as well as charcoal and have been so far to Dickey's and Mission BBQ.
