Cedar Classical Academy has gone above and beyond in exceeding any expectations that I had for a private, Christian school. The academics push students to work hard, be self-disciplined and provide the framework for lifelong learning. Students memorize scripture, sing hymns and the foundation is set for children to reflect on their own relationship with God. We love the small class size, teachers and other families, as well! Cedar is a treasure in our community!

What a blessing this school has been to our family. A robust, rich classical curriculum at all levels that fosters a love of learning and helps develop a broad understanding of the world we all live in, who my kids are in the world and what the purpose of all of "this" is. Teaching from a Christian worldview and framework, the school does not shy away from hard topics but aims to build up students to face ease and hardship with grit and joy. The amount of information my kids have memorized in the last six months is amazing, and the connections they are making with that information have been very encouraging. We are excited to have them continue in years to come and add their siblings to the mix. Our kids love going to school every day and are forming good, positive friendships with the other students in their classes.

Sending our 4th and 5th graders to CCA this year was life changing for them. My husband and I had only heard about classical education, but hadnt paid much attention to it. It was entirely different than public school! Big picture: learning feels like an adventure to our kids compared to the drudgery of trying to learn with the (often) boring curriculum in public elementary school. History and Science are a focus instead of a maybe we can squeeze these topics in for part of the year. The kids are learning grammar, writing, doing Readers Theater, and learning Latin. They memorize more poems, songs and info than imaginable. The Math is challenging and makes sense. Theology is one of our kids favorite topics and they appreciate the theology sprinkled in to each subject. I think the only hymn that they knew before this year was Amazing Grace and that was only the first verse. Since CCA begins each day with song and the students also sing throughout the day, they have learned several hymns and they seem encouraged because of it. The specials are wonderful. Music is so fun. I can tell the kids are growing in their pitch and have learned a lot of memorable songs. PE is challenging and our two kids have grown in grit and strength because of it. Art class is not only growing their personal art skills, but also their Art Appreciation since they evaluate famous works of art. The teachers know our kids well and offer both praise and encouragement to be their best academically and to grow in virtue. The school does not give report cards or even grades which fosters more open relationships with their teachers. We so appreciate this school.

We love everything about CCA. The school has taught our student and ultimately our whole family to love what is Good, True, and Beautiful. We are eternally grateful for the school's impact on our lives.
