Rooms are pretty bad and not updated. Their housekeeping people don't really clean the rooms. Card for the room needed to be updated every day because front desk staff act like they don't care. All around this place sucks avoid if possible.

This place is in very rough shape. I personally would never book this hotel again, and I would highly recommend that you check with the hotel before booking. We arrived yesterday to find that the pool is closed for renovations. Would have been a helpful piece of information on the website, but was it anywhere to be found, um no. They would lose bookings knowing that that's specifically what a lot of people look for when booking a hotel in Michigan in the winter, a pool and hot tub. The room we were offered upon our arrival was 326. Upon getting to the room, I noticed that there was water all over the bathroom floor leaking from the toilet. I called down to the front desk to tell them and was told to come back down, and they would assign another room. We were then assigned room 206. We then just had to walk up the stairs from the lobby to get to the room as opposed to taking the elevator. As we walked up the stairs, we noticed the banister was very loose and wobbly, a very dangerous hazard that should be fixed immediately, in my opinion. Video of the wobbly banister is also included with the review. After getting to room 206 and dropping our stuff, we needed to leave to get to dinner and then to a concert at the Wharton Center. Returning from the concert that night, we got to the room to find out that the second key card that we were given didn't unlock the room. I had to go back down to the front desk to get the key reprogrammed and waited at least 5 minutes for the attendant to come back to the desk. When she arrived i told her that the key card wasn't working, she rather snootily said well did you hold it next to your cell phone because that will unprogramm it, i said nope its been here in my wallet all night, the same place that the key card that was still in our room had been before leaving it in the room before leaving for dinner. Anyway she then "reprogrammed" the key, and I went back to the room with the reprogrammed key to find that it still didn't work. It's now after 11:00p and all we were looking for was a nice soak in the jacuzzi in our "suite". After returning to the front desk, my wife came back with the hotel attendant and another key card, and this time, the card worked. We could now finally go enjoy the jacuzzi, but guess again, the water coming out of the faucet (that was barely attached to the tub) was lukewarm at best. Not to mention the broken drain and patched hole below the drain in the jacuzzi. While sitting on the bed and waiting for the water to get warmer (it never did), I noticed that I could hear traffic through the window, like the window was open. I went to look, and the window was open alright because it wouldn't shut. The vinyl around the window was so deformed (pics included with the review) and mis-shapen that the lock wouldn't work to keep the window shut. Making it so that if someone wanted to get in the room from outside, all they had to do was open the window because it was not locked. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. Not sure if you can all see the pattern here or not but I hope I've painted a fairly clear picture that this place is not fit for human inhabitants in my opinion, but after all of this we had, had enough and went downstairs, checked out (now nearly midnight), and went across the street to the Crowne Plaza and stayed at a hotel that appreciates their guests. Doesn't treat them like animals. We called Choice hotels the following day, expecting some kind of compensation, and the best they could do was to offer 6000 points on my membership. I told them no. She then came back on the phone and offered 12000 points and told us that's 4000 points more than what a 1 night stay costs. So I reluctantly accepted, all to find out that a one night stay at most Choice hotels is 20,000 points. I, as well as any of my family and friends, too, if I can help it, will never stay at a Choice hotel again Rooms: The 2 we were in were very old and delapitated. AND I MEAN VERY!!! Noteworthy details: Building is old and very run down. Needs major cosmetic and structural repairs.
