        Upper Manistee Headwaters Nature Preserve located east of Kalkaska has a large, sparkling blue lake, kettle hole ponds and wetlands that offer great wildlife habitat, birdwatching and scenic views. There are more than five miles of easy to walk hiking trails. All trails have excellent signage, a hallmark of GTRLC nature preserves. Free parking. Dogs must be on leash. Playground: No. Restrooms: Yes. Dog-friendliness: Must be on leash. Picnic area: No.
