If you think this guy is bad, his sidekick Sally Kay is even worse! Steer clear of these two!

Im 23 now, and i feel i need to worn people against his work, worst dentist ive ever been to i seen him since i was a child till adult hood because my mother did not switch dentists since he accepted our insurance, he is very rude and disrespectful to my sister, aggressive doing teeth work on me, everytime we went my sister left crying, i left unhappy because he is just not gentle, always rude to his employees! last time was the last straw i went there is when i was 18 and i had an absess and he told me he coulddo nothing for the tooth because it was cracked, i was complaining about this tooth for the whole year since he done a rootcanal on it when i was 15 it got infected and started really bothering me at 17 he always told me nothing wrong with it, after he abstracted the tooth he left the infection in there, later that night i was in such pain crying and the infection was so thick and draining in that open area it looked like a tooth was there , i had to make an emergency appointment to a new dentists the next morning to get something for my pain bc anderson was soo unwilling to and unwilling to look at my infection drainage! I will never bring my children there, nor suggest a single person to go to him!!!

I didn't get the proper preventative care as a child and in addition I was a hockey player in my teens and broke more than a few teeth. I am in my fifties and in the recent past I fell ill to Leukemia (a cancer of the blood) the 3 years of chemo therapy sessions completely ruined what was left of my teeth leaving me with serious embarrassing dental problems. In my case I did not experience any of the issues the other reviewers have mentioned. I have always received excellent care and work from Doctor Anderson. When I was in pain I was given an appointment asap, often on the same day. I certainly like that this dentist goes right to work on my issues. He may lacks on small talk, but I don't go to a dentist to be entertained, there are other places specially designed for that. His professional work feels patient to me. Doctor Anderson has been kind, caring, and encouraging without giving me a long speech about dental care or make me feel second grade as other dentist have done. I find his staff courteous and friendly and that's all I am asking for. But then, I am not a whiner as I have a lot of experience with dentists. I am not scared or conflicted about dentists. I am not a obviously disgruntled employee. Dentists earn their money by making peoples teeth better or keeping them healthy. That's their job and Doctor Anderson does that perfectly and I recommend him to my friends which can state the same.

First things first: 1) I am a former employee, and was fired for nearly breaking an x-ray machine. 2) It's been a long time since I worked there (2006), so I've been removed enough to have perspective on it. I will say this now: I was extremely unqualified for the tasks I was given when I was hired. Unqualified in every sense of the word: no special training, no dental experience, nothing. And I was assisting with cleanings, extractions, root canals, you name it. Truth is, I should not have been anywhere near a dental office, yet there I was for a summer job. I thought I was going to be there just to file and do paper work. The dentist himself barely talked to me, and was much more concerned about supporting his hobby (airplanes) than really doing his job as a dentist. His work seemed shoddy and careless, although my eye is untrained so don't take my word for it (although the other reviewers seem to confirm this). So the main takeaways here: 1) staff may or may not be qualified to be doing the job they are doing. Be aware of that going in. 2) the dentist himself is not friendly. Any small talk he makes is a means to an end, not a sign of legitimate caring. 3) the work quality seems questionable at best, and probably a result of the dentist simply not caring as much about his work as much as he does about airplanes. There are several far superior options in the Houghton/Hancock area, I can assure you. If your insurance is accepted by those other options, I suggest you go there for caring and peace of mind. If you must come here, then be prepared for the points above.

The reception desk is very friendly, while the dentist is not. He always behaves very impatient and doesn't care for his patient at all. He did the filling for my teeth, and it fell off after 2 days. Strongly not recommended.
