Dry 4 dollar taco. Not much meat. Meat tastes off (beef). Improve ur game if ur gonna sell an ethnic food at 2x the price it normally is. Sheesh.

Being raised in Hamtramck, I remember the glory days of the city when you could go to your local restaurant and feed a family of 4 for $20. I know times have changed but I am not paying $5 for a single taco that's 80% tortilla and 20% meat. This is the first restaurant I've ever been to that charged me a 10% gratituity for carry out... This is what's wrong with America these days why are you charging me $5 for a single Taco and STILL charging me 10% for CARRY OUT. If you want real authentic tacos do yourself a favor and drive out 10 mins into Mexican town where you can get tacos for a fraction of the cost and something that's actually authentic. Stay away from this restaurant because it is what I call vulture culture. DRIVE THIS BUSINESS OUT OF HAMTRAMCK. GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY

To begin, I did a Take out order. The server automatically checked me, I was not able to see what she had charged me until I checked my receipt when I got home. Why in the world was I charged a 10% Gratuity for a Take out. This is such a scam. Ive never heard of a take out place automatically charging a 10% Tip for pickup. This Tipping culture has gone out of control. It is not the responsibility for the customer to pay a Tip for simply picking up food. I am going to be reaching out to AMEX to handle this matter resolved. 2nd matter - the tacos are very bland and this place is not good as it was back in 2019. I highly recommend no one else to come here, unless you happen to be drunk and are craving late night food. This is the response since the owner wants to get rude. If your workers are working so hard as you say, maybe you as the owner of the business should pay your employees a livable wage. It is not up to customers to be paying a service charge or a gratuity for a pickup order. Ive been 100s of business, youre the 1st business to charge a service fee for a pickup order. Which is ridiculous. So stop scamming normal working people because you want to be cheap and not pay your employees a fair wages.

I had a less-than-ideal experience at this establishment and feel compelled to share some constructive feedback. Firstly, I was surprised to find a 10% gratuity added to my bill for a takeout order, a policy that, in my opinion, lacks transparency and could benefit from reconsideration. Additionally, I found the offerings to be somewhat lacking in flavor and felt the prices did not quite match the quality of the food provided. For those in search of a more fulfilling taco experience, I would personally recommend exploring other local gems such as M Cantina, Taqueria El Rey, Taqueria Mi Pueblo, or Bakersfield, where I believe youll find both the service and the culinary delights more to your satisfaction.

(2024) Still one of the better taco places I've been to! We had a friend's night at one of the local bars and dropped in to Dos Locos for some late night noms. I had been meaning to get back, and I'm glad I did! They have a variety of Mexican-style dishes with a focus on tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Everything we had was very well flavored and incredibly tasty. Nothing bland on this table! The server was very knowledgeable about what dishes were gluten free or vegan or whatever, and they didn't mind modifications within reason. Since one of my partners is celiac and the other has the cilantro-soap gene, that makes this a place we can all go together! Since the expansion, they now have a bunch of tables, of a few different sizes. They still have the bar, though it's only three seats and they don't cook in front of you anymore. The kitchen is in the back, out of sight, but the broader menu more than makes up for any missing show component. Since the pandemic, I'd ordered out from here a few times, but with the remodel and the staff, I'm going to make a point of dropping in more often. Worth! (Old review from 2018) So tasty! This is seriously one of my favorite places for Mexican quickies. They make tacos and burritos while you wait. They have actual Mexican sodas, not just the USA knock offs. They have a bunch of different sauces, from basic (but tasty) up to stupid hot (but still tasty!) If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out. Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes can be made vegetarian. They have mushroom and jackfruit options that are very good.

Hi Mohammed, sorry to hear you were unhappy about contributing $2.15 to make sure the hardworking people at Dos Locos make a liveable wage. I just want to clarify something. The 10% we charge on every order is a service fee, not a gratuity. This means that it gets distributed evenly amongst the people who were working tonight. That includes the prep cook, the line cook, the dishwasher, and the server. So that money paid for more than someone simply handing you a bag of food. Furthermore, on our customer display screen the service charge is clearly displayed when you run your card. It's also clearly stated on our menu. Service charges are standard practice in the post covid world. If you're not willing to pay them, then you should learn the 8 hour long process of making Birria and do it for yourself at home. In response to your edit: I'm not sure where you're eating that doesn't charge a service fee. I can guarantee you that they either pay their employees minimum wage, or they're using the cheapest possible ingredients. We refuse to do either of those things and that means that it costs a little more to eat here. In the last 4 years, food cost has doubled, labor costs have increased 70%, insurance has increased 40%, literally everything costs more now. A business needs to maintain certain profit margins so that it can continue to provide a stable living for its employees. If that means that entitled people like you don't eat here, we're OK with that.
