Joe Martino Counseling Grandville

Dont bother trying to go through this business: We tried to get couples counseling through the Grandville location, when we went to our appointment they said it was incorrectly scheduled for a 1-on-1 session with a counselor. Then when we rescheduled, we TRIPLE CHECKED that it was for couples counseling. He (the scheduler) said yes every time. We went to the appointment and AGAIN it was not for couples counseling but 1-on-1 The employee told us that ownership/management hired a family member to run the scheduling and he SUCKS, we agree. We were told theyd reach out with a new time for a couples counselor. We never got a call so we called today and the scheduler said we cant do it because all the marriage/couples counselors are booked. If they cant get scheduling right, you cant trust that theyll get counseling right. This is why you dont mix business and family unless the family is competent & can do the job correctly, or at least half-right.. Hopefully they realize this and fire the guy doing the scheduling as he just cant perform to the needed standard & the employees are upset just as much now as well. The counselors seemed nice so who knows how they are but we didnt even get a chance to find out. Try to go with them if youd like but this is my only warning that itll be more of a headache then going to the next place thats actually professional business.

I would not recommend this place. A bit of a disappointment & here is why; I was seeking outpatient help in regards to my mental health. I had just gotten out of the hospital due to something most would deem as pretty serious.. I had one first therapy session & was paired with a newbie clinician. I had clearly shared with her that I dont think working with her will be a good match. I also asked her to help me find someone within the practice that can help me. She had said yes & that it was no problem and I have not heard anything back since. When someone is desperate for help & doing everything they can to hang on, its not wise nor is a cute to leave them waiting around.

No communication, no call backs, completely ghost their vulnerable patients.
