Plaza Essentials Gift Shop at the Amway Grand Plaza

This is truly the most disappointing hotel gift shop I have just about ever stepped foot in. It does not match the beautiful surroundings of the historic hotel at all. Here is a list of thing I am looking for in a good gift shop: local made products such as honey, jams, spice mixes, soaps and candles. A section of beautiful books on the area such as cookbooks from local restaurants and history books about the town/state would have been fun. A stationary section is a must, this can include nice stationery but also postcards about Michigan. A section of local art, small paintings, ceramics, and more affordable prints. A high end children's section with beautiful Michigan books and stuffed animals. And then maybe a kitchy section of Michigan mugs, keychains, shot glasses ect. This store did not have a single one of these things! Not even a good postcard section. How is that even possible? They need to hire someone from the local design school or one of the other local gift shops that that are actually really nice to be their buyer.
