Hi, Michael. Thank you for taking time to leave us a review of your experience. We use a system called ShowMojo for our self-guided tours. For your safety, our safety, and the safety of the property, we need to verify who goes into the homes for tours. To do this, ShowMojo utilizes a 2-way authentication using your ID and a credit/debit card in your name. A small temporary hold (usually less than $1) is placed on the account which allows the banking institution to release your information so that it can be compared to the information on the provided ID. Holds on accounts are typically released within 24-48 hours, much like when the gas station places a temporary hold when you pay at the pump.No money is charged to your account and the card information is not saved, which is why you will notice it asks each time for each individual showing you schedule. We have not had any complaints from our prospective renters about suspicious activity on their accounts as a result of participating in the 2-way authentication. We are sorry if you've been misinformed, but the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a paid service (accreditation) and is not a way to determine a business's authenticity.
