Kent Decorators

I dont know about his quality of work but he definitely doesnt care about others property. That WAS a rose bush. Furthermore, they left their ladder sitting in the front yard next to the porch, could have at least put it up so it couldnt potentially be used to break into an upstairs apartment or even getting his own equipment stolen. My first encounter verbally was negative. Didnt know they were scheduled to show up (renter) and when they did show up I checked to see who was going in the upstairs apartment and he told me not to worry about it. I did try to call the number listed to deal with the rose bush issue but was immediately sent to voicemail at 2 pm on a Friday. Far from professional and not someone Id hire.

Jose' is a very kind person and very proud of his work. Although he does not take kindly when issues on his work are brought to his attention. Many rips and bunched up areas in the wallpaper were noted. Some smaller areas didn't have any wallpaper or too small of pieces. He dismissively said he would address those areas and muttered profanity as he turned around. He never fixed the areas, but happily told my mother after I had left, that he had taken care of everything and was finished. She trustingly paid him. Very unprofessional and truly unfortunate. Customers beware! GET A CONTRACT AND DON'T PAY CASH! Perhaps wallpaper just isn't his expertise. Maybe he's better with paint(?). Regardless, you can't provide shotty work and call it great out of pride, then take advantage of the customer's trust. It's not okay.

When kindly shown, Jose dismissively said he would address those areas and muttered profanity as he turned away. He never fixed the areas, but happily told my mother after I had left, that he had taken care of everything and was finished. She trustingly paid him. Very unprofessional and truly unfortunate. Customers beware! GET A CONTRACT AND DONT PAY CASH! Although he has a BBB sticker on the back of his Van, Kent Decorators IS NOT BBB ACCREDITED! Perhaps wallpaper just isnt Joses expertise. Maybe hes better with paint(?). Regardless, its not okay to provide shotty work and call it great out of pride, then take advantage of the customers trust. Its simply not okay. 2021 February I hired Kent Decorators. I was so impressed working with the owner himself. His professional suggestions and work looks impeccable. His pricing was fair and good. He was very informative and knew exactly what I wanted or needed. I actually worked on other things frequently in the same room and his work ethic is diligent to detail and works very fast. He worked over a week helping us prepare our home with quality painting and drywall detail to prepare to put our Byron Center home on the market soon. Kent Decorators was referred to me from a friend who used them to completely redo a Grand Rapids home inside painting and out. The home is over 100 years old and Jose's drywall work was outstanding. It was then that I ask my friend who did all his work and he said Jose' of Kent Decorators. It was then that I knew I only wanted Kent Decorators to do my decorating work. I know he does lots of things including wall coverings, pressure washing and masonry work. Thank You Kent Decorators for helping us turn our home into the way we always planned it to be!!
