Ive been seeing Rebecca for EMDR therapy for a few months now and cant say enough good things about her and the organization overall. Rebecca is kind, professional, and amazing at what she does. Trauma informed and very compassionate.

Family Outreach Center is a great resource for those seeking mental health resources in Grand Rapids. The staff I have seen for >1 year have been consistently attentive and empathetic. Scheduling is not a concern and they have appointments available that meet my schedule. They have a grant-based program for mental health services for those living in the City of Grand Rapids that has made access to these services possible.

I've waited a while to write this, until I had further evidence to back me. During the time I went here (4-6 years ago), I was diagnosed with several different things. One thing, not quite fitting, as well as a bad situation on their part. I'll explain further: I was diagnosed with PTSD, Bipolar Disorder 2, and High Functioning Autism. Since these diagnoses, for the first time, I've been able to live my life. I can hold a career finally, I'm no longer hearing or seeing things as severe, I'm also getting help for the years I struggled with undiagnosed ASD. While I went to this location, it went well, but, B... We will call her, left. She said she found a more satisfying place to move onto. I should of taken that as a red flag for the type of place I was soon entering. I was diagnosed with, I'm sure everything beneath the sun. My psychiatrist there just wrote me anything I could ask for, I'm sure if I wanted but, I'm trying to get help, not a cheat. They wanted to focus on Boarderline Personality Disorder for me. I had a new therapist too at that time, after B moved on. He insisted I also had Boarderline Personality Disorder. Which later on I learned is just a term loosely thrown now a days for lazy doctor's. Not everyone diagnosed with Boarderline Personality Disorder has it I learned from the more professional, successful locations. I insisted for a new therapist. One who would focus more on my words and hear what I'm actually trying to say. The manager reached out at this place and told me she will only send me to one other doctor, and it was a man, which I didn't want at the time since I really needed a fellow lady's ear. Not against men, I just had a preference for specific needs at the current time. They insisted they continue to diagnose me and give me the wrong meds and the manager, she would not let me go to another therapist. So I finally just left. They tried to get what money they could from me and my insurance by saying I missed appointments I sat up, but I said I quit and won't be returning verbally. I also called several times for my records to be released to other locations. No calls back or information emailed or faxed. So, take a good look at this place. It's not a good place for true mental health help. They don't listen to what we as their patience have to say. They just get what they can and call it a day. I've been to better places since then. I do not have Boarderline personality disorder. I'm also on very different meds. My life is amazing compared to my time working with Family Outreach Center, here in Grand Rapids, MI
