Spectrum Health Family Medicine Residency Center

Me and a friend have both been told we need colonoscopies before they're actually due. They tried to convince me I should have one done every 3 years but my insurance will not pay for that and the last time I had it done they told me I could wait 5 years. I've never heard of people having it done every 3 years, either. My friend that had it done had to pay for his colonoscopy out of pocket because it was one year too early thanks to spectrum health telling him he was due when he wasn't. Also when you get an annual physical most doctors tell you to fast the night before so they can draw blood for your labs. For some reason Corewell doesn't do this unless you push it ("I've already fasted, can't I just do it today?"). Why should an annual physical take 2 trips??

Dr. Robin O'Meara is hands down the best PCP/ Family Dr. around. She cares , its like she cares more about your health than you do yourself. Very professional, honest and effective.

You know, I had a student come in and before I left I heard the doctor tell her she can't chat with patients. That it takes up too much time. We weren't really chatting. I was explaining why things are happening and asking questions. The doctor wants her in and out. That DOES NOT make a good doctor. You need to treat the patient as a whole and they need to feel comfortable with you. You're turning the next generation of doctors into a bunch of robot like people who don't pay attention and don't care.nthe actual doctor himself clearly still does not want to treat me for anything. The bias and judgements and information he gets wrong is ridiculous. Everyone is like that now though. No wonder so many people are sick and have mental health problems.

Easy to get an appointment quickly, very professional and attentive staff, genuinely caring. Highly recommend.
