Lake Michigan Recreation Area Group Camping

You have to stay here minimum two nights if your reservation includes a Friday or Saturday. Absolutely ridiculous rule since this campground is less than 2 hrs from GR. Pretty hard for us to plan a trip here. Rather than spending $100 to stay here all weekend you might as well just hike a little bit and camp for free at Nordhouse.

We love to camp here. Hosts are great and they keep the park really clean.

We had a wonderful time here at the group site. Plenty of room for multiple tents. Nice and even leaf covered ground, soft, sheltered from the wind. You can hear the waves of the lake at night and during the day. Very "rustic", take animal precautions and don't be squeamish about bathrooms. No water on site, but a well nearby. Easy access to a dumpster and abundant downed wood available for campfires. Very worth it. Hope to come back soon.
