If I could give 0 stars I would! This place is complete trash and needs to close! Read the reviews! Its not about the money its the principle they have not one sign posted that states they do not do refunds Im completely dissatisfied with my glasses the prescription is completely wrong and the lenses look like theyre not even made for the frames I cant see out of them at all they told me to keep wearing them and come back I cannot wear them because the prescription is wrong!!!! So I tried to come up the next day and get a refund and they were so rude and disrespectful and would not give me a refund and said I need to come speak with the owner to resolve the problem.. the sign they have posted says money back guarantee.. they proceeded to tell me that they paid for my lens to be made and will not give me a refund which I then proceeded to tell them that MY INSURANCE AND I PAID FOR THEM NOT THEM! They had nothing to say after that and said they are just done talking to me. Theyre a whole scam in there if Im not satisfied with what I BOUGHT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET MY MONEY BACK! I will be going back in Tuesday to see if the issue can be resolved and if nothing is to be done just let them know how terrible their business is being ran and how disrespectful their employees are.

Went in to update my glasses and spent almost $300 (with add ons and insurance) to get them made. Blue light doesnt cover the glasses fully (from the outside its been applied properly but wearing them you can see the difference.) and the prescription for my left eye is blurry. When I went in to see if anything could be done I was told that they were made properly and that they couldnt see what was wrong with them. They so graciously offered to have the prescription redone but it felt disingenuous as it would be on my dime. I will not have my eyes examined nor purchase glasses from here again. The frames were cute.

*** updated review 8 years later*** Not too sure what happened here but customer service has taken a huge hit. When I came to try on my glasses no one asked if i needed help they just let me sit there without asking. When i spoke up i was talked to so rudely. Surely it was my fault that the 4-5 people working there never bothered to ask if i needed assistance. Then the doctor didn't even give me a mirror to see myself. A week later i brought in my daughter in for her appointment and another doc just forgot to get her PD measurements. Different doc every time i come in, no consistency. I'll be looking for a new place after 10 years of using general optical. I had no problem at all getting the information so I could order my frames online at a cheaper price. The gentleman that helped me and my family was very informative and helpful. Not only was he about saving my family money he was funny too! Very personable. We all recieved our glasses much faster then expected too! I give general optical in Burton 5 stars!

I had purchased 2 pair of glasses a few months ago. I wore one pair for awhile but they hurt my nose. I put them away for a couple of months and then pulled them back out to wear. That's when I noticed the nose pieces were different sizes. I took that pair back to have the nose piece replaced. The manager told me it would be 4 dollars. He then proceeded to tell me that they had been worn more than I said they had. So, basically he called me a liar. This was the 2nd bad experience I had with the General Optical on Center Road in Burton. I will never go back there again. The first time, I hadn't had my glasses 2 days and they snapped when I put them on...after 3 pair doing the same thing I should have known better.
