GHS Behavioral Health Urgent Care

I went in today as a walk in and I saw Rachael Smith. She was very helpful in every way you can imagine. She reassured me that what I'm going through is normal and just a speed bump and I left feeling a little more positive about the rest of the week ahead of me. Thank you so much Rachael.

Went here as I had lost some of my psych meds and needed an emergency refill. I was feeling suicidal without my meds and was in crisis, so I made an appointment. There were no nurses or prescribing doctors on staff, just a bunch of social workers. The one I saw in specific was extremely rude and apathetic. She clearly did not care about her job or the fact that she KNEW she had a suicidal patient. There are PROTOCOLS for this sort of thing. But instead I was told to that they couldnt do anything, and that I needed to make an appointment with a psychiatrist. They then recommended me to a place that wasnt even taking new patients. Dont go here if you need help, basically.

Terrible no communication. Took my child who was in distress in on Sunday. Made an appointment for a touch base on Wednesday. Appointment was at 5:30 pm, left at 8 pm after being ignored and no actual help or support given.

Although the front desk worker and my initial intake worker were stellar, once the Coordinator came in the room, it appeared that she was more interested in signing me up for their services rather than addressing the fact that I was clearly in distress. I did not have time to wait an entire week for an appointment with their psychiatrist. Was told I would receive no emergency meds and that I should go to Hurley Medical Center Urgent Care Health. I did go there. So save yourself some time and go directly to Hurley Urgent Care which is basically attached to the Hurley ER. Skip GHS, because your emergency is not their emergency.
