My daughter started going to Loren when she was 10 years old. He is very patient and spends lots of time with his students. Also, his prices are very reasonable. He is always happy to answer questions or help when she is stuck on something. He teaches music theory along with guitat playing and makes sure his students understand what they are playing. My daughter is now playing in a rock band and has found a great love for music thanks to Loren. I highly recommend Loren Crandall for anyone of any age who is interested in learning to play guitar!

I've played guitar off an on for many years, but never took the time to really learn "what" I was doing. So, I decided to find a guitar instructor and actually learn the guitar. I found Loren online, and started taking lessons with him about a year ago.
Loren is great! He is very knowledgeable in theory, which is something I wanted, since I knew very little about the theory behind playing songs. Loren is also very versed in many playing styles, which is something I really wanted, even though my preference is blues, rock and jazz. In fact, my daughter took lessons with him for a while, and he went through many of the contemporary pop songs, currently playing on the radio. So, he really customizes his teachings to allow me to learn what "I" want to learn. This is awesome!
As far as teaching style, he does a great job mixing it up between learning theory and playing songs. This really suits me really well. I get the theory needed, but also working on songs (that I like to play!), which supports the theory, but doesn't bore me to death (with only theory!).
Lastly, his price is extremely reasonable. So, you really get a lot of learning for little cost. I would highly recommend Loren to anyone that wants to learn guitar, whether a complete beginner like my daughter, or a self-taught guitarist who really wants to take their guitar playing to the next level!
