I do not recommend this place. I bought a new Matthews last year with all of the bells and whistles. This is my first new bow Ive purchased in 10 years. The last was an entry model PSE. I am not privy to all the new rests, releases, techniques, cams, etc. The purchasing process was a tad embarrassing. I kept asking for recommendations and was pointed over to the shelves of gear I had no idea the difference in. I was a newby, and heard raving reviews for sunrise. I expected a better experience. The tech who was helping me out at one point had said man I really dont know Ive never had to build a bow for someone before. Youre going to have to do your research. While he wasnt necessarily wrong, part of my research was asking the techs what the best were. For example, I knew I wanted a cable mounted drop rest. But wasnt sure the brand. I knew I wanted an adjustable sight. Was unsure of multi pin. Single pin or brand. My draw length is 5 inches longer than it was prior. Because of that I had to buy an Atlas. I wasnt sure the best arrows for the Atlas. All was met with condescending remarks on how I should do my research. Im spending upwards of $3000 on a bow. My research is asking the experts in the shop. I was never measured for peep or kisser, so I took that home to fiddle with. Even though I spent thousands on a new bow. I shot all year last season with a bad placement on kisser and peep. My draw length was 1/2 inch short. Because I was never measured or offered different modules. When purchasing the new bow I was never paper tuned. A service I know now is rather standard at most shops nationwide. I went in a few months later to buy some arrows and bring my bow in. Was told they didnt have time and didnt have appointments. I also asked about different inserts for my arrows. I was told my idea was a stupid one and it would be too far off from my current arrows. All the while, time was spent away from me, at this point someone who had owned the bow for 8 months and was a paying customer, to spend time pouring over a fella who shot a deer. I get it. Its great to see the community in sharing their trophies. But at the cost of customers? Im told its too busy and they cant paper tune my bow. At this point I decided this wasnt the shop for me. I had referenced this to the tech when I was checking out saying man you guys are too busy but can stop and chat about OL boys deer over there, huh? And I was met with excuses about how hes a long time customer who comes in often to share stories and chat. My two poor experiences have taken my business up north, and have taken now two fellas who are getting into new bows up north. Ive taken my services to another shop where Ive received the service I expected from sunrise. I drive 30 minutes farther than I would to go to sunrise because of my experience. From what I see on other poor reviews, its likely Ill be responded with another condescending apology about how they do their best but I was probably wrong. I do think this shop has very knowledgeable techs with a lot of gear you can buy. If you want to get the service you would expect from a shop of such regard, you have to be apart of the boys club that this place entails. Im disappointed, and wish I would have spent my money on the bow elsewhere. Edit: Derek (the manager) was the tech I dealt with twice. I had 3 buddies with me when I bought this. If the staff cant remember the story I so eloquently explained, when the manager was the one who had poor service, how should I expect differently when Im invited back? Take it as fraud if you will. However, my bow wasnt even paper tuned when I bought it. Peep and kisser set up wrong. Ill stick with my new tech. Im sure phone numbers are on file. If fixing shortfalls is what is targeted, a phone call wouldve been placed. Not a response to a google review.

I am not the kind of person to leave a negative review, in fact I have never done so before in my life. I own a business myself and I know how these reviews can hurt a business. Really, I just want this to be read by the owner, and if the owner responds I will take this down. I came in during the morning when it looked like the only people in the store were those who worked there or were friends with the staff. I came in on a recommendation from my mom. I have been wanting to learn how to bow hunt since my father died and we never got to do it together, so my mom found this store for me. I looked online and the store manager, Derek, is who my mom talked to and she said he was wonderful with her. Well, he was not wonderful with me. I told him that I am new to bow hunting and was hoping to talk to him about what kind of bow I should use, how much weight I needed, etc. Well, I told him I was thinking about a certain kind of bow, he just showed it to me and said "As a woman it might be too big for you." That was the most "customer service" I got from him. He said he could order me a right handed bow since he only had left handed in stock. That was it, and I left. Now, I really try not to play the "woman" card on these kinds of things. I understand women need different bows just like they need different golf clubs. I get it. But the way that I was treated and the way he spoke to me made me feel like I shouldn't have even walked into the store being a female. So I drove the 30 minutes back home (when I could have just gone to a store around the corner from my house, but I heard this place was the best) thinking about if I handled that situation wrong, if I should have further explained I actually wanted some help instead of just a bow ordered. Which is silly, because I clearly told him I'm new and wanted some advice. I just want the owner of the store to know how his manager is treating new guests. I ended up buying a bow from somewhere else, and you lost a sale because of poor customer service and rudeness. Again, I will take this post down as soon as I get a response that the owner reviewed this. Thank you.
