First, the crew that installed the water feature did a great job. Very conscientious. I am very pleased with the final project and its appearance and I believe it is an enhancement to my yard. I only give it an overall 3 star rating for the following: In July, 2021 I requested a bid for a bubbling rock water feature with a stream disappearing into rock. I received a bid detailing what would be done and based on the details of the bid I signed the acceptance of the bid and sent a deposit that was slightly more than the requested 25% deposit (I rounded up to the nearest 100). Do to personal financial difficulties I requested to cancel but was informed that the deposit could not be returned so we agreed to delay construction until May, 2022. The projected was started the first week of May 2022. During the project I requested a change form using mulch, which had been quoted at 1 unit for $65, to Michigan stone. I assumed that the additional charge would be about $120 as the mulching cost quoted was $65 (about 2 times the Hammond Farms charge). No other changes were requested. When I received the invoice for the completed project the cost for edging, which had been quoted at $6 for a unit of 1 was increased to $448 for the same unit of 1 and the cost for the rock was 3 units at a total cost of $630 about 10 times the original estimate. On the invoice I was only given credit for the requested 25% and not the rounded up amount I had sent. The actual deposit amount was noted on the acceptance that I sent. The completed project did have some issues with leaking water, as much as 20 gallons per day. After several attempt by Tom, I finally resolved on June 14. Tom has also adjusted his billing and we are in agreement. Although my rating is 4 stars, I would work with Tom and his crew again. Service: Outdoor water feature design
