Pamela, we are sorry that you were unsatisfied with your recent experience at Dittrich Furs. However, just so you have the information, here are a few points.We never "corner" anyone into buying anything. Instead, we take consultative approach to selling our products. We do not feel the need to pressure anyone because we feel that our products, the largest selection of outerwear fashions made from highest quality materials at the lowest prices in the industry, sell themselves. We believe that it is important allow customers to make decisions in their own time, whether it takes them a day or years, no matter if they are spending a small or significant amount of their hard-earned money on their purchase. Our goal is to make sure our customers are satisfied with their purchase for many years to come. We feel that this policy serves our clients the greatest and is one of the many reasons why we are Detroit’s longest serving privately held company.In regard to garment bags, we inform every customer that garment bags should only be used to protect their garment when traveling and that fur garments should never be stored long-term in a garment bag. This is because, over long periods of time, a garment bag can cause wear or mat down fur materials. Since many customers buy garment bags with the intention of using them for storage we actually discourage the purchase in such cases. (See the FAQ section of our website for information about storing fur garments and garment bags.) Our job as a professional furrier is to ethically advise consumers to the best of our ability, even if it means NOT selling a product or service.The garment bags that we sell are unique. They are custom designed by Dittrich Furs and made of the highest quality materials specifically appropriate for use with fur garments when traveling. The price of our garment bags is VERY fair considering their manufacturing cost.Additionally, to address your dissatisfaction of not receiving a garment bag for free, in all honestly, we are not in business to give away merchandise for free. However, we ALWAYS price our merchandise fairly and offer the lowest price available for equivalent quality.Also, as posted on signs in our showroom, we encourage customers to talk to us when they experience any form of dissatisfaction. If we are unaware of a problem, we can’t fix it, and we like fixing problems and satisfying customers! And, as throughout our 130 year history, you are always welcome to speak directly to a member of the Dittrich family.
